Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 232

“Lettie, remember Dr. Lockwood—the one we ran into outside the movie theater? He invited us to go hiking tomorrow. Are you free?” Willow changed the subject, her tone light.

In her previous life, Lettie had never dated Lionel—at least, she’d never mentioned him before her accident. By then, both of them were nearly twenty-eight.

Juliette’s eyes sparkled mischievously. She arched a brow and teased, “Are you sure that handsome doctor actually invited me, too?”

Willow squirmed under Juliette’s gaze and finally admitted, “Okay, fine. I asked Dr. Lockwood if I could bring a friend, and he said the more the merrier.”

“Is it just going to be the two of you?” Juliette’s curiosity was instantly piqued.

If she was going to be a third wheel, she had no intention of tagging along.

Willow shook her head. “No, there’ll be his friends and some other doctors from the hospital. Both guys and girls, don’t read too much into it.”

Juliette broke into a sly grin. “That last part is pointless. Of course I’m going to read too much into it.”

A handsome doctor inviting Willow hiking? What else could it mean? Clearly, the man had plans to make a move!

Honestly, Juliette had always hoped Willow would give some decent men a chance. Not every guy out there was a heartbreaker or a jerk.

Why let one bad relationship spoil the whole bunch?

Willow seized the opportunity. “If that’s how you feel, you should definitely come with me, don’t you think?”

“To keep an eye on you?” Juliette shot her a look.

Willow just gave a small, knowing smile.

“All right, I’m in!” Juliette agreed without hesitation.

Willow grinned. “I’ll swing by your place at eight tomorrow, and we’ll head out together.”

Whether it was Ian or Waller, they were both solid guys. Even if things didn’t work out romantically, introducing them to Lettie as friends couldn’t hurt.

By half past twelve, they’d pretty much demolished all the sushi and appetizers on the table.

No sooner had they stepped out the front door than they spotted Lionel standing just outside, as if waiting for someone.

Lionel looked up and caught sight of them, clearly surprised. “You two—did you eat here, too?”

“Uh, yeah,” Juliette stammered, thrown off by his sudden appearance.

They hadn’t messaged each other in weeks—not even a single WhatsApp text. She never imagined they’d run into each other here.

“So you still remember this place,” Lionel said, a spark of genuine happiness in his eyes.

Juliette quickly pushed aside the faint ache in her chest and masked it with a bright smile. “If the food’s good, I never forget.”

Seeing Lionel here, her first thought was the same as Willow’s: he must’ve brought a girl he liked.

Willow watched the two of them, unsure if this was fate nudging them together or just a bit of unfinished business.
