Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 255

“Fake as ever.”

Willow let out a soft scoff, then swiped her screen to open the group chat and sent a quick message letting everyone know she was safe.

She had barely popped up in the chat before Juliette’s call came through.

Willow’s eyes sparkled with a gentle smile as she answered, “Hey, Lettie. I’m back at my dad’s place.”

“That jerk didn’t follow you, did he?” Juliette asked immediately.

“No, he didn’t,” Willow replied. At least, he hadn’t shown up anywhere near her father’s apartment. What happened back at Cliffhaven Gardens, though, she couldn’t be sure.

After all, going back on his word was just business as usual for that man.

“As long as you’re safe,” Juliette said, relief clear in her voice. “Go take a nice hot shower and get some rest tonight, okay?”

Willow knew Juliette must be brimming with questions right now, but she was considerate enough not to pry.

“You too. Get some rest—good night!”

After hanging up, Willow drove back to her own apartment complex.

Her dad was out of town tonight, away at an academic conference in another city, and wouldn’t be back for three days.

She’d given Waller her dad’s address mostly because, when he’d asked for it last time to send her a bottle of wine, that was the address she’d shared. There was no graceful way to correct him in person without making things awkward.

Besides, her place was only a stone’s throw from her dad’s, so it hardly mattered.

Willow made it safely back to Cliffhaven Gardens without running into Beasley.

After a hot shower, she stretched out on her bed. It was past ten already, and she wondered whether Waller had made it home yet.

She picked up her phone, intending to check if he’d posted anything in the group chat.

For so many years, Dorothy had treated her with a mother’s warmth and care. That kindness was something Willow would treasure forever.

“Is there a reason you’re calling so late?” Willow asked gently.

Dorothy seemed to sigh, a hint of hesitation in her voice. “I promised I wouldn’t get involved in things between you and Beasley anymore, but I just couldn’t help myself this time…”

“It’s okay. Whatever it is, just tell me,” Willow said, already guessing what this was about.

Dorothy explained, “Beasley wants to apologize to you in person—for what happened four years ago, for believing you drugged him and set him up. He says he can’t reach you, so he asked me to help arrange a meeting.”

Just as she’d suspected.

Willow made a soft sound of acknowledgment, her response honest and without hesitation. “Dorothy, we’ve already met. He’s apologized.”

“Really? Oh, that’s wonderful!” Dorothy’s relief was palpable, but she quickly grew serious again. “Still, Willa, even though Beasley has apologized, I don’t expect you to forgive him. He hurt you deeply, and no amount of apologies can make up for that. So whatever you decide, both Mr. Windsor and I will always respect and support you.”
