Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 277

After finishing her shopping, Willow drove back to Cliffhaven Gardens.

She had definitely bought more than she intended—enough to require at least three trips to haul everything upstairs.

She decided to take the meat and vegetables up first, then come back down for the fruit and snacks.

By the time she’d managed two exhausting trips, her arms aching from carrying so many bags, Willow hadn’t even had a chance to sort the groceries or get them into the fridge before the doorbell rang.

She jumped, her mind immediately racing—could it be Beasley again? That guy had a knack for showing up uninvited.

She’d just told Ryan earlier that Beasley hadn’t been bothering her lately.

Frowning, Willow glanced toward the foyer, not sure how she’d handle him if it really was him. But before she could decide, a woman’s voice—warm but unfamiliar, with a hint of middle-aged weariness—called through the door, “Excuse me, is Miss Sheffield home?”

Willow was taken aback.

Not Beasley?

Then who?

Almost instantly, she remembered the phone call from yesterday—a woman claiming to be Connor’s mother.

Could it be her?

The voice did sound similar.

Willow straightened, walked to the door, and opened it—just a crack, keeping the security chain latched, a precaution against any unwelcome surprises.

Though, apart from Beasley and his particular brand of arrogance, she doubted anyone else would try to barge in.

Peering through the narrow opening, Willow saw a well-dressed woman standing patiently outside. Behind her were two men in tailored suits, each holding several lavishly wrapped gift boxes.

Willow kept her tone neutral. “And you are?”

Willow’s brow furrowed even deeper. “If Beasley Windsor has a problem with Mitchell Group, what’s it got to do with me?”

Important to him? Give her a break. The very thought made her skin crawl.

The woman was nearly in tears. “How can it not matter? President Windsor said himself—he’s ending Mitchell Group’s contract because Connor was rude to you!”

One small incident, and the entire company was in chaos. Other partners, seeing Windsor’s move, had quickly followed suit, cutting ties with Mitchell Group. In just a few days, their stock had plummeted, and the company was bleeding losses.

Willow listened, her thoughts swirling. What was Beasley up to this time?

He was so willing to drag her name out in public—didn’t he care that his precious childhood sweetheart, the famous actress, might get jealous?

Or was he really the type to trample over anyone’s feelings if it served his goals?

What a dangerous man.
