Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 287

Those three foreigners could all speak English, but when they were chatting among themselves, they always switched to their native language. Only when they wanted to mock her did they use broken English—crude, sleazy words that made her skin crawl.

Even now, when Willow thought back on it, she felt a wave of disgust and nausea.

They were arrogant, too—brazen enough to discuss, right in front of her, how they planned to split the money afterward. Apparently, this “Mr. Windsor” had paid them two hundred million, which wasn’t enough to divide evenly, so they settled on a plan: whoever managed to get her pregnant would take a full hundred million, and the other two would split the remainder.

Yes, that’s what they intended—to keep her locked away until she became pregnant, then drag her out for a DNA test, each man claiming to be the father. They’d ruin her reputation, make her the subject of endless scandal, and ensure she’d never recover.

They jeered at her for being naïve, mocked her for not knowing her place. So what if she’d married into a wealthy family? In the end, she’d gain nothing at all. She’d just end up a disgrace—an easy mark for them.

At the time, Willow’s mouth was taped shut, her eyes blindfolded, and her hands and feet bound. All she could do was listen to those three animals as they ate and joked around, spewing filth with every word.

Later, they even mentioned Rosamund—saying Miss Worthington was Mr. Windsor’s “darling,” and once this was all over, he’d likely marry her.

Of course. In her last life, right after she jumped to her death, Beasley probably couldn’t wait to bring Rosamund into his home.

He loved Rosamund so much—enough to destroy Willow this way, to make sure she could never reclaim the title of “Mrs. Windsor.”

It was only then that Willow truly understood why Beasley had stopped mentioning divorce, and instead chose this inhuman method to obliterate her. Because only this way would Dorothy finally agree to their divorce, and stamp out any hope of their reconciliation.

—Willow snapped out of her memories and returned to the present, where laughter and light conversation filled the air. The cheerful, peaceful scene before her felt jarringly at odds with the darkness she’d just relived.

Juliette noticed Willow spacing out and figured she must be feeling uncomfortable—after all, Cordelia’s sister was the woman who’d ended Willow’s marriage.

“Lionel, be honest with me—are you and Lettie together?” She’d noticed the glances, the way they leaned in to whisper to each other. Especially Lionel—he was looking at Juliette openly now, not even pretending otherwise.

Before, he’d always denied it.

Lionel grinned like a fool. “Was it that obvious?”

Johanna’s face lit up. “So you are together! Congratulations!”

Lionel, confident as he was, still couldn’t bring himself to lie. “Actually, I’m still chasing her. She hasn’t said yes yet.”
