Her distant tone wiped the smile from my face. I curved my lips lightly, pretending nothing was wrong. “This is the presidential suite. Thought you might like to experience it, see if there’s anything that needs improving.”
Leslie lowered her eyes, gliding past me with a gesture so elegant and lazy it carried an odd sort of charm.
My chest warmed. Leslie with an attitude–adorable beyond words.
I handed her the keycard. A soft beep sounded as the door unlocked.
She walked in, casually surveying the room.
This hotel had cost Crimson Moon Pack a fortune to build, hosting political and business gatherings alike. Its standards were top tier.
I studied her expression. She shook her head faintly, as if disappointed.
My brow furrowed. “What, you’re… not satisfied?”
She paused, smoothed her hair, and said evenly, “It’s fine.”
Then she picked up her luggage and headed deeper inside.
Watching her back, I thought, I’d never cared much about this place before. But now… maybe it really was a bit lacking.
I needed to check out that state–guest hotel in the neighboring city.
After a short look around, Leslie turned and found me still at the door. Her face chilled. “Kirby, are you planning to stay here too?”
I leaned lazily against the wall, gazing at her. “This is my suite. The place is huge–plenty of room for two.”
She gave a cold laugh, her eyes hard. “Plenty, yes.”
My heart leapt–until she added, “So much space for two is far too empty. Why don’t I call over those three Omegas who want your bed and let them keep you company?”
The words hit like ice water, freezing the air.

My face darkened, storm clouds gathering in my eyes. She wasn’t joking.
Lance roared in my head, “Idiot! She’s baiting you. If you lose your temper, she wins!”

My teeth ground together. I wanted to seize her and put her in her place–but I couldn’t bear
Against her, I’d never once claimed victory.
“Fine. You win,” I spat through clenched teeth, spinning away. The door slammed behind me with a sharp crack, carrying all the bite of my stifled temper.
Michael’s POV
I was in discussion with the chief director about tomorrow’s shoot when a knock sounded.
Opening the door, I found Sandra standing there.
Her makeup was flawless, and she was wrapped in a lazy, sultry bathrobe that clung to every
curve.
My wolf soul blared alarms in my mind. My chest sank, and my voice hardened. “What do you want?”
Since taking over the entertainment company, I’d seen no shortage of women throwing themselves at me. But I’d always stayed cautious, never touching the trouble that came from this industry.
Sandra smiled, tucking away her seductive air and putting on a mask of innocence. “Michael, could you tell me which room Kirby is in?”
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation as she waved her phone. “He asked me to meet, but I forgot to get his room number.”
Such a flimsy excuse–and she dared to say it.
I sneered inwardly but felt relief.
So she was after Kirby.
Of course. He was the only male alpha here. His pull on these Omegas was undeniable.
I smiled faintly. “Why not ask the front desk?”
Sandra’s face stiffened. Clearly she’d tried and failed. “I did. They won’t say a word about Kirby’s room, so I had to come to you. Michael, Kirby and Leslie are hopeless. But if a new ship comes out of this show, we’ll be the hottest variety of the year.”

She studied my face carefully.
This woman knew how to dress up her own ambition.
But even if I refused, she wouldn’t let it go.
Better to let Kirby deal with her himself.
This foolish woman thought filming one show together gave her a chance with him.
She had no idea just how terrifying the real Kirby was.
