Burn in the Alpha Princess's Wrath novel Chapter 400

Chapter 400 Bound for Retribution

Kirby’s POV

Leslie slept so quietly, the lines of her face soft as a painting the scene I’d been aching to see day and night.

My chest felt as if something had seized it, a pain that almost stole my breath.

To be able to watch her like this, to keep watch over her forever how I wished it could be that simplebut she should have been mine, and I’d let her slip away by my own hands.

Thinking that, my heart felt wound in fine threads, pain tightening until I could hardly breathe.

I moved closer and looked down at her, my gaze lingering on her face.

Under the light, her features were so familiar, and yet so distant.

I bent and carefully brushed the stray hair from her forehead with my fingers.

A bitter smile tugged at my mouth. I murmured, Good night, my destined one. I’ll wait for you to come back to me.

Then I forced myself to turn away and deal with tonight’s mess.

A few minutes later, Malach texted me: they’d found her.

I didn’t hesitate to call. “Where did you bring her?

In the basement holding cell,Malach answered cautiously.

A minute later, I stood in that dim room.

The woman called Chloe was tied up tight, curled on the floor. Her white nightgown was filthy, like something pulled from a trash heap torn and ruined.

She saw me and shook like a sieve, terror written in her eyes.

I looked at her coldly. Alpha pressure condensed into something real, and the room seemed to drop a few degrees.

Two blackclad guards held her shoulders on either side so she couldn’t move.

I signaled for them to remove the gag from her mouth. The moment they did, she wailed, a high, grating sound. KirbyKirby, I- I know I was wrong, please spare me! I can apologize to Leslie in person, I’ll do anything-

Apologize? A cold laugh twisted my mouth. Cruelty showed plainly in my eyes. Apologize? No. She doesn’t get fixed by a single apology, does she?

She pleaded like a soul without a body, tears spilling like broken beads, her whole body convulsing with sobs. Kirby, I was wrong, I’ll quit the circle, I’ll never show up again, please—

I stepped forward and looked down at her.

Her fear hung in the air like a stench, thick and inescapable.

It made me sick.

How dare she touch Leslie?!

No one may harm her. No one.I said without mercy. So I can’t let you off lightly.

Then I turned and left.

I never did this kind of thing with my own hands.

A single order, and someone else would do the dirty work cleanly.

Malach’s POV

The Omega behind us screamed like her heart was being ripped out.

I followed closely behind Kirby, my steps steady though my chest was calm.

Scenes like this no longer surprised me.

Whenever Leslie was involved, Kirby’s ruthlessness was such that he could strike even himself

let alone anyone else.

I glanced at him. The cold in his features wouldn’t melt; his presence was sharp as a drawn blade that dared no one to meet it.

Once we were outside, I tested the water. Alpha, how far should we take this?

Chloe was just an Omega, but she was a public figure. If the matter blew up, cleaning it up might be troublesome.

I kept my voice careful, not wanting to touch his nerve,

Kirby lowered his eyes, expression blank. He took a cigarette from his pocket and lit it with practiced case.

He moved with the grace of a nobleman, pride and arrogance woven into the motion, as if the

world were beneath him.

After a few seconds of silence, he exhaled a ring of smoke and spoke cold as ice: Ask which hand she used to give Leslie the drink. Keep that hand.
