Chapter 407 Scandal in the Hallway

Leslie’s POV

Sure enough, the moment I stepped out of the elevator, the entire hallway was crammed with people whispering, buzzing like flies. The air was thick with sweat, pheromones, and disorder.

I caught the sound of a woman sobbingthe sweetness of Omega pheromones laced with the sharp tang of fear.

Asphodel growled. An Omega in heat? Nojust the residue of panic.

As soon as people noticed me, they parted, clearing a path.

I made it to the doorway without trouble and found Kirby standing there.

He hadn’t gone in. He stood at the threshold, face grim, his aura sharp, mint pheromones spreading like a frost fog around him. Nobody dared stand too close, except Malach.

When Kirby saw me, he raised his brows slightly and gestured me inside.

My stomach sank, like I was stepping straight into a bottomless pit.

Inside, I saw Michael, his face dark as stone, and several directors hovering.

His Beta pheromones were a mess, shredded like carrion ripped apart by wolves.

The directors muttered uneasily, the reek of their nervous sweat stinging the air.

The crying grew louder from within, Omega sweetness choking on salt, like an injured cub.

Leslie? You came?Michael stood up first, surprise flickering across his redrimmed eyes, as though he hadn’t slept.

I turned toward the room, and one glance froze me in place,

Damn it. Carl and Cynthia?

Cynthia, voluptuous and sensual, sat on the bed in disarray. Her nightdress was ripped like it had been torn by force, red marks glaring across her skin from the struggle.

Her pheromones were pouring out wildly, sweet but panicked, like a rabbit cornered by

hunters..

She sat there sobbing uncontrollably.

And CarlCarl was just as shocking. He sat on the floor in only shorts, chest bare, his face red with humiliation, anger, and frustration.

From the looks of it, he’d been kicked off the bed.

Asphodel burst out laughing. Ha! The brat went into heat but got booted. He doesn’t even have the strength to match a female Omega.

I didn’t share the humor.

Instead, anger twisted in my chest.

Damn it. My moneymaker just collapsed?

Carl had been the show’s tool, the reliable prop. Like this, how was he supposed to appear on

camera?

Michael came up behind me, patted my shoulder, and sighed.

His hand trembled slightly. You saw it yourself. Carl went to Cynthia’s room under some excuse and triedto mate. Cynthia refused and screamed. People rushed in and saw it all. Now here we are

I understood Michael’s despair.
