Chapter 416 Ice and Silence

Malach’s POV

In the topfloor office of Crimson Moon Pack, Kirby stood before the floortoceiling window!!! gazing down at the city lights sprawling beneath him.

Moonlight draped across his figure, stretching his shadow tall and lonely.

This space was his domain, a symbol of absolute Alpha authority from here, the Pack’s pulse was under his control. That was the way of werewolves: the strong stood above all, overlooking everything.

I waited nearby, keeping the respectful distance I was used to. In my mind, my wolf muttered, He blew up this afternoon, but looks calm enough tonight.

My phone suddenly buzzed. The screen lit up with a message from the mall manager in the neighboring city an old friend of mine, always bragging about his sales.

The message was a desperate plea: Save me! You have to see this

I opened the attachments: two photos and a short video.

One photo showed Leslie’s signature and bank account. The other, her and a man’s blurred backs a figure I recognized instantly, my chest tightening.

The video, just a few seconds long, captured them at the piano. Their fingers moved across the keys, seamless and in sync, like a pair born for each other.

The manager’s final message was a groan of despair: Isn’t she the Leslie Kirby couldn’t get? She just won a couple’s prizewith another man fifty million! My numbers are ruined

My heart sank.

The man beside her was Adler.

The Alpha of Gold Pack. His sandalwood pheromones always smelled gentle, almost falsely so. But I knew he was no easier to deal with than Kirby.

My wolf growled uneasily. This is trouble. Kirby’s going to lose it again.

I glanced at Kirby. He was still standing there, posture straight as a spear. Unease coiled in me.

If this news spread, Kirby’s fury could ignite the whole Pack.

I hesitated, but I had no choice. If I stayed quiet and he found out later, I’d be the first one

crushed.

AlphaMy voice rasped, like a stone lodged in my throat.

Kirby turned, his gaze slicing through me. The chill in his eyes made my back go cold.

I inhaled sharply, then handed him my phone. The conversation and files were plain to see.

He took it, his long fingers scrolling slowly. Three minutes passed in silence.

That silence was like the air before a storm, making my skin prickle.

Too quiet, my wolf whispered, that’s bad.

At last, he lifted his head. He took a sip of wine from the glass on the table, his expression heavy, fathomless. Not a word.

My pulse raced. The calmer he acted, the more dangerous it felt.

His dark eyes sank deeper, the crease between his brows tightening, rage suppressed beneath layers of iron control.

The air thickened with mint pheromones, sharp and freezing, plunging the office into ice.

I swallowed hard. I knew this fury wasn’t about the fifty million. It was Leslie and Adler

accepting a couple’s prize” — and worse, under Crimson Moon Pack’s name.

For Kirby, it was public humiliation.

I stood stiffly, not daring to speak.

The silence from him hung over me like a blade.

The air pressed heavier and heavier. My wolf cowered inside, praying he wouldn’t lash out at

Finally, Kirby tossed the phone back at me. His voice came low and rough, scraping up from his chest. Get rid of the video.”

He lingered in the shadows, his figure as cold and unyielding as an ice sculpture. The aura rolling off him was suffocating, enough to chill the blood.

A jolt of dread shot through me. This wasn’t the end
