I’d barely managed a single day of breathing space in the neighboring city before Thorbane dragged me back to Rogue Pack with one phone call.
Morning sunlight still carried a chill when I hauled my luggage into headquarters.
Asphodel muttered lazily in my mind, Workaholic curse. One day of fun costs you two days of labor. Worth it?
In the office, I kicked off my shoes and threw my legs across the desk, drumming my fingers against the wood with sharp, impatient taps.
Pine resin pheromones slipped into the air, edged with irritation. “Any updates from Kelly or Leiss?”

He let out a low, rough laugh. “I figured if I warned you, you wouldn’t let me in.”
He pulled his phone from his pocket, opened a video, and dropped it onto the desk. His voice carried a sharp, sour edge. “Nice piano skills. When will you play me a song?”
My eyes narrowed, heart skipping. So that was it.
Jealousy? Ridiculous.
On the screen was the duet with Adler. So he came here to pick a fight.
