Burn in the Alpha Princess's Wrath novel Chapter 430

Chapter 430 Uninvited Guest

Leslie’s POV

The news was shocking.

Kirby had been visiting Rogue Pack far too often.

I parted ways with Eric and drove Carl’s Maserati straight home.

In the living room, Kirby was nowhere in sight. Carl jerked his chin toward the outside. Fishing with our old man

I frowned. What’s he doing here?

Carl shrugged. What else? He came for you. Probably saw your trending post with Eric and

couldn’t sit still.

His tone carried a hint of schadenfreude.

I had no words for that. I went upstairs, changed into a casual sweater, tossed a blanket over my shoulders, and wandered lazily back down.

Just in time to see Lars and Kirby come in together. The butler took their fish baskets, and the air filled with the scent of lake water and flowers.

Kirby stood tall, white shirt open at the collar, Adam’s apple sharp, collarbones cut clean, black trousers showing off long legs. He looked relaxed yet aristocratic, his mint pheromone drifting like a frost mist, subtle but suffocating.

When he saw me descending, his gaze flickered, lips curling into a warm arc. Leslie, what a coincidence.

The casual tone made it sound like his own home. Lance was probably wagging his tail with glee in his head.

I stiffened and forced a smile. This is my house. Of course it’s a coincidence.

Asphodel snorted. Thick skin. He dares to swagger on Rogue Pack ground.

Lars came out from washing his hands, his voice booming with the Lycan King’s warmth. Stay for dinner, Kirby. We can’t let you haul in all these fish for nothing.

Kirby dipped his head slightly, all polished grace. Then I’ll impose.

Damn him. Always putting on airs in front of my father.

I rolled my eyes and turned away, pouring myself a glass of water.

Kirby drifted closer, carrying that faint fragrance of his, touched with the garden scents Lars cultivated out back, as natural as a woodland breeze.

His voice came low and husky. I’m thirsty too

I froze before I could answer. His long fingers reached over, took my glass, and drained it in one go. He set it back down as if nothing, the edge of his mint scent smug.

His eyes locked on mine, saying without words: see, we just kissed indirectly.

But he was out of luck.

Carl walked by, gaze cold as ice, staring us down. If you want water, drink it. But why my cup?

Kirby:

His mint scent faltered. His expression was priceless.

I held back my laugh, forcing out, Carl, I poured it especially for you. Touched?

Asphodel burst out laughing. Look at that face! If Carl weren’t here, Kirby would be gagging on the spot.

Carl snorted, clearly displeased, and stalked off with the cup.

Kirby, watching him go, pressed his lips together. His eyes darkened, a current moving in their depths. I went to your office just now. They said you’d already left. Where did you go?

Damn him. Coming to my house to question where I’d been?

What business is it of his?

If I didn’t still owe him for his last round of help, I’d have clawed him out the door already.

After half a beat, I smiled faintly. I went to see Eric.”

Asphodel chuckled darkly. Jealous? Angry? Good. Let him stew,
