“You hate him, don’t you? You hate that he’s close to Leslie, that he’s cozying up to the Rogue PackPack. You’re not wrong. Kill someone with public opinion and you can walk away untouched. That way, Rogue PackPack won’t want a notorious Adler anymore. Doesn’t that leave the door open for you?”
I felt my breath hitch, the fire in my chest flaring hotter.
“I stopped where I did because I didn’t want Leslie dragged into it!” I growled. “You had people dig up Adler’s dirt and splash it everywhere, and now Leslie’s name is caught up in it too! The whole Pack network is talking about her. Is this what you wanted?”
Marcus just smiled calmly. “Great men don’t fuss over trifles. Nobody online supports Leslie and Adler anyway. For self–preservation, Rogue PackPack will only clarify their relationship. A notorious man with a kid and a devoted ex–mate? Anyone with eyes will take your side.”
He looked at me, full of contempt, like he was sneering at how far I’d go for a woman.
“Tiptoeing around – is that what a Crimson Moon Pack man does? A woman should be marked as yours first; then you can work on feelings later. This is me making you an opportunity!”
Hearing that, a deeper chill rose in me, and Lance’s throat rumbled a hostile growl.
“Drag Leslie into it and you think Rogue PackPack will still marry their daughter in? Stop dreaming! Push her too far and she’ll burn the bridge down with you. Don’t think she won’t!”
I saw his expression jolt, his brow tightening he clearly hadn’t thought that far ahead.
—
I stood there like ice, staring at him, my voice hoarse, cold, merciless.
“To make sure nothing like this happens again, I’ve already had someone draft your resignation
full relinquishment of Pack authority. Sign it, and I’ll make it public.”
–
The meaning was clear: I was about to let the world know Marcus, the Alpha, had no power left.
The head of the Crimson Moon Pack had changed hands.
In that instant I watched the color drain from his aged face; he trembled with fury.
He probably never imagined I’d skip the Alpha succession ceremony and make such a defiant, unfilial move.
“You wretch!” he roared with everything in him.

Chapter 441 Breaking the Old Alpha
But to my ears it was only the last cry of a king from a bygone age.

I sat in the ebony chair in my study, the one that symbolized power, the air thick with my ancient, weighty Alpha scent.
Every artifact in this room had once been a testament to my victories.
All my life I’d carved Crimson Moon Pack’s path with iron–blooded ruthlessness, lifting it from an ordinary pack to the Northern Continent’s strongest throne.
Back then I faced ambitious elders and predators like wolves and tigers.
I hadn’t picked some tail–wagging mediocrity. I’d chosen him Kirby.
—
my youngest, most gifted son,
I’d taken him from a clueless pup and personally taught him how to handle every threat inside the Pack.
I sent him into the most brutal human special forces to forge a steel–hard will; sent him alone into the wilds of the Eastern Continent to hunt the fiercest beasts. Kirby’s excellence was the creation of my life.
