The mess that the king created was not little at all. He turned everything upside down, destroyed every single thing that he could touch. as if there was a hurricane that hit this place.
There was only one sofa that was still intact, and the king was sitting on it, leaving no room for Caden, which forced him to stand up before his king. He didn’t like it at all.
“What do you want to say?” King Maximus leaned over, his electric blue eyes fixed on the alpha, as he crossed his arms impatiently.
“I heard you are going to take one of the omegas in this pack,” Caden said, he tried to hold the king’s gaze, but he couldn’t, in the end, he stared at his chin. His gaze was too intense, he felt the chill crept down his spine.
“Unfortunately, the omega is my mate,” Maximus said nonchalantly. Everyone would have learned about it, since he marked her before a hundred pair of eyes, which now he rather regretted his impulsiveness. “Do you have any objection?”
Unfortunately. Caden caught the word, and he became surer with his decision. “My king, I don’t know if you already learned about it or not, but I don’t think she will be a good match for you.”
“She is not a good match for me?” A glint of malice crossed his eyes, but Caden missed that, because he didn’t see him in the eyes. “How so?”
“She is… not appropriate.” Caden looked trouble. “I am ashamed to admit this, but she has been pestering me. She was initially my mate, but because of her promiscuous action in the past,
You deserve someone better.”
“So, you can fuck her, but I can’t?”
open sopgaven before I know she was my mate, I rejected her. I don’t think she is good for you.
Caden raised his head upon hearing the king’s crude words w
He looked at him, and caught the smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “That’s
not what I meant… she is not someone that you want to be the queen of the werewolf.”
“Are we close, alpha?” Maximus tilted his head, observing the newly appointed alpha before him, and had this urge to strangle his neck. He imagined his blood oozed out from his opened throat.
“Pardon me, my king?”
“Do we know each other for long?”
“Uhm, no. Caden was not sure where this conversation would go.
Then fuck off. I don’t need your opinion. I can appoint a slave as my queen if I want to.” Maximus didn’t raise his voice, because he didn’t have to. His cold tone was enough to make his point clear.
The king didn’t give a fuck about what other people thought of him.
“What is it? You don’t even want to give up your plaything to your king?” Maximus leaned his body over, and even though he was sitting down, but Caden felt this danger that loomed over him.

And his mask must have slackened off, because Maximus could smell his desperation and agitation in his voice to keep that woman.
