Rania was scared for her life, even after all she had gone through, fear had been the constant existence in her life, but still, she would, never get used to it.

Even so when the king walked toward the car. Rania could feel the dread on the pit of her stomach, but it was followed with anticipation, and longing.
Subconsciously, Rania touched the mark on her neck, before she stopped herself, and laced her fingers together, staring at the back of the seat in front of her. She kept telling herself not to make any noise, and annoy the king if she wanted to live.
This could be her ticket out of the hellish Black Stone pack, or it could be a one way ticket to the real hell.
When king Maximus entered the car however, Rania felt he suck the air from this small space. His presence was very strong, and overwhelming, it assaulted all of her senses.
She felt silly, because she didn’t know what to do with her hands, or where to look at. She hugged her backpack, as if that was her life line, and sat very still, as if she didn’t want him to notice her presence.
Of course, that was impossible. The distance between them was less than a meter away, and Rania could smell his scent. She was drawn to him. She wanted to bury her face against his chest, so she could breathe in his scent.
Of course that was an impossible thing for her to do.
Yet, to Rania’s surprised, the king was the first one, who closed the distance between them. Right now, the car had driven away from the driveway, and king Maximus loomed over Rania. He took so much of her space, until she felt overwhelmed with his presence.
Sitting on the front with the warrior, who drove the car, was his royal beta. Declan glanced through the rearview mirror, he was anticipating what Maximus was going to do with this woman.
“What is it? You are not happy?” Maximus asked, he leaned over, until his face was only a fistful away from hers. Rania could feel his warm breath against her face, and she kept her eyes low.
In shifter world, in certain occasion, when you held your opponent gaze, it could mean a challenge, and that was the last thing Rania wanted. She craved for him, but she didn’t want his attention, since it could be a mortal danger for her.
“Look at me when I am talking to you,” Maximus said in a low voice, his tone laced with annoyance and demand.
And when he lifted his hand to touch her cheek, Rania flinched. Still, she didn’t dare to look at him in the eyes.
“Look at me,” Maximus demanded again. He hated it. This woman chased after that shitty alpha to be fucked, but she didn’t even the decency to look at him when he talked.
“Yes, my king. I… I am happy.”
Maximus scoffed with her answer. His hand then slid down, and his palm was over her chest. “I don’t think so.” He could feel her thumping heart, and sweat that layered her forehead, despite the AC in the car that was in full blown.

Rania wanted to shrunk. She wanted to make herself disappear. Her senses overwhelmed her, she felt him everywhere, as he crowded her space, and she started hyperventilating.
Seeing this reaction, Maximus cursed viciously. “Fuck you.” In his eyes, she looked like she repulsed him. “Wait until I get you for myself, and we are alone, he said in a dangerous low tone.
That word alone sent Rania into panic, as she clenched her teeth, to prevent herself from chattering. She squeezed the front of her dress, and kept her head down.
That was the same word that Caden had used to her. She couldn’t help, but trembling in fear. Would the king be her another nightmare? The thought alone made her sick.
