Kyle took Gayle, while Lyle carried Killian, and Jasmine walked ahead of them. She had heard from the two of them about what happened in the front gates of the capital city.
The landslide had buried thousand of Barlukan warriors, and now there was no chance for them to survive. Only a handful of the warriors from the Barlukan, who managed to survive such disaster, and now they were gathering in one spot, trying their best to be out of the royal warriors‘ sight.
For the meantime, it was safe for them, because there were many casualties for the royal warriors as well.
But, their sense of safety wouldn’t last for long, since they heard the king had returned. Which meant, sooner or later, he would skim the area, and led his warriors to look for the enemy’s survivors.
“Do you hear anything else?” Killian asked, he still couldn’t move his body, so Lyle gave him a piggyback. He looked pale, though his wounds started healing
“No… that’s the latest news that we can obtain. It is very risky for us to get closer to the royal camp, especially with the landslide, the terrain will be too difficult for us to sneak in,” Lyle explained.
“We need to go back to get Michael’s body,” Kyle said suddenly. “We can’t leave him there without a proper burial.”
“Yes, we will be back to get Michael’s body,” Jasmine said. She was sad because Michael had to die because of her. If she could choose, she would prefer to die instead. This life was too harsh on her.
At the very least, in the afterlife, she would reunite with her father and mother. But then, when she thought about Adrian, she steeled her heart. Her brother still needed her.
“Is it still far?” Jasmine asked, she was very tired. She met Lyle and Kyle when she roamed around the landslide, therefore she was not sure where they had gathered.
“No, it’s behind that hill. There is a cabin there. Our number is not many, so we can use it, but we need to move again.”
Jasmine nodded. She forced herself to walk, despite the fatigue. Not to mention she had to go back to retrieve Michael’s body. There were so many things that to be done in order to survive.

Rania hugged Maximus tightly, wrapped her arms around his body to stop him. She didn’t know what he was going to do, but she knew for sure there wouldn’t be something good that came out when the king was enraged.
Rania kept shaking her head, she tried to stop him, but how could she accomplished that when she was not a match against the king in term of strength… or anything to be honest, especially now when she felt like she was going to faint due to the fatigue.
However, to her surprised, Maximus stopped walking. His mate sheer determination for him not to harm Lucian and Ares was the only thing that made him postponed the two warriors‘ worse end.

“Step back, Rania.” Maximus’s voice was very dark, and vicious. It had been so long since the last time Rania heard his voice like this, and to be honest, it was very terrifying. She didn’t know how to describe it.
Yet, the strangest thing was; Rania was even more worried because the anger was not directed at her. Maximus was livid with the two warriors, and he didn’t hold himself back from showing it.
Rania shook her head again, and then lifted her head only to meet with the murderous intention in those electric blue eyes.
On the other hand, all of the people near the camp immediately knelt down before the king, they were trembling in fear, as they could sense his rage through the bond.
Lucian and Ares felt the worse of it, because they knew it was their fault to allow their queen to be here, in the heart of the catastrophe that could take her life.
“What?”
‘Please, don’t.’
Rania mouthed, she tried to relay what she wanted to say, but it was hard to tell him without her pen and notes, and her lips were trembling, since she was also terrified with Maximus’s outburst.
‘Please, I am the one, who insisted to come here, they just followed my order?
“They should know better.”
Maximus took a step forward, but Rania clung to him tightly. There was no way to stop him if he was this determined to kill someone.
‘If you want to punish them, then you have to punish me too, because I am the one, who put my life in danger, and didn’t listen to your order.‘
“I don’t understand what you are saying.”
