Rania was not happy because Maximus would leave to the battlefield. She didn’t want something happen to

“You don’t need to worry, my queen, I am sure the king will be fine,” Della said to calm Rania down. She just told them about the king’s decision.

“My queen.” The warrior lowered his head respectfully when Rania approached him. He smiled politely when he spoke. “I am going to inform the king that you are here.”

[No, there is no need for that. I will wait.] Rania wrote down on her notes.

The warrior tried to persuade her, saying that it would be too long for her to wait if the king didn’t know she was here.

But, Rania kept shaking her head. She didn’t want to interrupt the important meeting.

“In that case, let me get a chair for you.” The warrior immediately left to get Rania a chair, so she would be more comfortable when she was waiting.

The warrior returned not so long after with a chair for Rania. She thanked him and sat quietly to wait for her mate. She had no problem sitting like this for a long moment.

Rania actually enjoyed a moment like this, where she didn’t do anything, and only observed her surroundings.

The war room was facing the front garden, where Rania watched a few warriors were training. Some of them were in their human form, but some of them were in their beast form.

It was actually fascinating to watch how they moved and how smooth their transformation from human to their beast, or the other way around.

Lucian and Ares were not punished, and initially Maximus didn’t want to give them to Rania again after they put her life in danger, but after some persuasion and a lot of good sex, Rania managed to convince Maximus

Rania spotted elder Gallant, who gave her a look before he turned his head and chatted with the other elders. It seemed, whatever decision that had been made in the war room was not to his liking; therefore, it enhanced his dislike towards Rania.

However, she had gotten used to that and such reaction didn’t hurt her so much anymore.

Elder Gayle approached Rania when he saw her. “Are you waiting for the king?” Rania nodded to the question. “He is inside. It’s good you are here, he needs you. Please, calm him down.”

Rania blinked her eyes in confusion. She wanted to ask what happened, but then she was against it. It would be better if she saw Maximus herself.

Once all of the people left the war room, Rania entered. The warrior who guarded the door closed it softy behind her.

Inside the room, Maximus was leaning forward against the table, his face down, and Rania could see a huge chunk of the table had been torn off.

Even after all this time, it still shocked Rania to witness Maximus’s strength. She wouldn’t doubt it if he could break her neck without even trying if he wanted to.

The king lifted his head when he sensed his mate’s scent. At first, his brows furrowed, but then his expression relaxed when he saw the confusion on her face.

He took long strides and in no time, Rania was already in his arms. He kissed her relentlessly, as if he wanted to vent out all of his frustration.

Rania was familiar with this side of him, so she let him do whatever he pleased, as she tried to keep up with his passionate affection.

However, at some point, Maximus was being too rough with her, he bit on her lip too greedily, and he drew blood.

“I am sorry.” Maximus immediately pulled away from her, as Rania grimaced in pain. “Let the healer see this.”

Maximus was about to take Rania out of the room, but she pulled him back, and shook her head. ‘I am fine!

“No, you are not.” Maximus wiped the blood from her lip with his thumb, his eyes darkened. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
