Cassie flinched when Caden pulled out. She slumped to the floor, and felt the pain between her legs. He entered her dry, and this was not the first time he did this to her.

She lifted her head when Caden zipped up his pants, while the alpha didn’t even glance her way once he got what he wanted. Cassie hugged herself under the table, and listened to the conversation between alpha Caden. and the former beta Alaric.

Because not long after that, Alaric came. If he smelled the sex scent, he didn’t say anything. His expression looked morose, as if he had aged for a few years now.

“Why did you spread a false rumor to tarnish her name even more? She is not even here,” Alaric asked even before Caden could say anything, it showed how much he hated the situation he was in.

Because of the rumor about Rania that Caden had spread out, it affected him as well. Nevertheless, it ruined his reputation, because people knew Rania was his daughter.

However, Alaric didn’t have any idea about the fact that the royal gamma had come to the Black Stone pack in order to get more information about Rania.

“You want your daughter back, right?” Caden asked, he sat down on the sofa opposite from Alaric. He faced the former beta calmly.

Alaric had been agitated because the king had taken Rania away. Despite his mistreatment all these years, he had once loved his daughter so much, Rania was the only daughter he had. She was his blood.

Even though Alaric treated Killian exceptionally well, since he desperately wanted to have a son, but something still felt off. He was not his son. He was not his blood. He didn’t feel the bond between them.

“This is the only way to get her back from the king. We can’t afford to offend the king straightforwardly. You know how crazy the king can be, he can destroy our pack out of whim. At least, not now.” Caden had planned everything. It was a long plan, but it would be worth it in the end. “Be cooperative with me.”

Meanwhile, Cassie was hiding under the table. She couldn’t be seen, but Alaric could tell that Caden had taken pleasure from his whore before he came to this room.

“Why do you want my daughter? You rejected her, tortured her, and now you wanted her back?” Alaric narrowed his eyes, he tried to understand the young man before him, but he still couldn’t figure him out.

The former alpha, alpha Winter, always said that his son was more cunning than him. Cande had a tendency to go with his impulse, which made him worried about the pack, but then he had no other heir. Caden was his only son. His only child.

“Yes, I rejected her, but I think the mate bond between us has never truly disappeared. I still feel the pull toward her, so I can’t resist her.” Caden leaned his back against the sofa, he held Alaric’s eyes. “I can ask the same question to you. Why do you want your daughter back when you have been mistreating her all this time?”

Alaric couldn’t answer that question. In random night he would ask himself how his relationship with Rania reached this point. When the first time he treated his daughter badly.

When was the exact time Rania turned from the apple in his eyes to be the sore thumb in his life.

If he asked himself further. He didn’t think he hated her. He punished her for the mistake she made, but he didn’t know when it had gone too far, and he didn’t even know a way back from it.

“Maybe you should stop this. I think it’s best for Rania to stay in the palace with the king. He is his mate after all.”

Caden raised his brows and then chuckled derisively at him. “Did you hear yourself?” He leaned over, and his voice was a tone colder than usual. “He is the Mad King. Do you think he will treat her better than when we treated her here?”

“She is still his mate.”

Caden shook his head, as though what Alaric said was very stupid, and the former beta became even more irritated with the way this young alpha acted, but he didn’t show his displeasure..

“If the king thought of her as his mate, he would have announced her as the future queen of this kingdom, especially after the grand gesture to marking her in my ceremony.”

“How can you guarantee that your daughter is not out there alone, being chased by the wild wolves when she couldn’t even shift into her beast?”
