CROSSING THE BORDER novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

“Damn it! Are you trying to kill each other!? Do it when I am not around! I am not cleaning up your mess and get myself killed!” Declan was panting heavily.

He was standing between Maximus and Eiten, as the royal gamma curled himself on the ground, pooled in his own blood. He was not going to die, but it would take him a while to be able to gather his bearing.

Meanwhile, Maximus looked fine, he was standing on his feet, with a wound on his shoulder that was still bleeding, but overall, he was fine.

The anger in his eyes had ceased down, but he was still glaring at Eiten for his audacity to stand up against the king. If he didn’t know him for long, what Eiten was doing could be considered as a rebellion act, which resulted him to be dead.

However, Declan believed Maximus wouldn’t go that far, no matter how crazy he was.

“Leave,” Maximus said. His voice was so dark, as he walked toward Eiten.

“I will take him.” Declan immediately jumped in, he blocked Maximus before he could reach the royal

gamma.

“You. Leave.”

Declan thought Maximus asked for Eiten to leave, therefore he intended to take him away to see Lula, but as it turned out, Maximus wanted Declan, who left them.

“What? No.” He shook his head, he looked horrified. “What are you going to do with him? Don’t be so reckless… Max!”

Maximus shoved Decan aside, and he stumbled. He didn’t have the energy to stop the king. It was already a miracle that he was still alive when he intervened the fight between the two of them.

Declan himself was not left unscathed, there was a gnashing wound on his stomach, which now slowly closed

  1. in.

“Max!” Declan shouted when the king knelt down next to Eiten. He stretched out his hand, and the first thought that came to his mind was; the king wanted to snap Eiten’s neck.

Declan cursed to himself, because he didn’t think he could stop Maximus in time, especially when he exhausted himself, and he couldn’t shift into his beast in this condition.

However, to his relief, Maximus simply checked the wound on Eiten’s neck. It was deep, but not deep enough to kill him, which was telling a lot. Maximus didn’t have any intention to kill him, or else, Eiten wouldn’t have talked sarcastically to him now.

“Too bad you missed my vital spot.”

“I have never missed.” Maximus sat down, and stared at the distance, while Eiten was still gathering his strength, and waited for his wound to close in. The pain was hell, but he didn’t let out a single whimper. “What did she say to you?”

Eiten groaned. “You should have asked this question before you attacked me, and accused me of such lowly

accusation.”

On the other hand, Declan sat down again, he laid down on the ground, because he was tired. He needed to rest too, now he knew the two of them wouldn’t kill each other. Great. He listened to their conversation.

The sky looked very gloomy, it seemed tonight there would be a storm.

“Don’t be a jerk, answer me.

“No. If you want to know the answer, you need to apologize and gather your act. You can’t treat her like a thrash, and then expect her to open up with you.”

Maximus growled, but Eiten didn’t care, he closed his eyes, too tired to speak.

Meanwhile, Declan shifted his attention back to the two of them, but seeing Maximus didn’t do anything after Eiten’s blatant refusal, He relax again.

“You have to manage your anger, Max, or else, you are going to burn yourself and the people around you, especially those who cared about you to ashes, and after that, no amount of regret will save you.”
