For their breakfast, Rania put a little bit more poison in Maximus’s food, because she saw the slow acting poison didn’t do any damage on the king.
Rania then sat on the sofa, watching her favorite cartoon, while waiting for Maximus to wake up.
When he woke up, he approached her in the sofa, and they ate their breakfast like usual, before Maximus went out of the room to start his day.
If you thought about it, the king barely used his own bedroom anymore at this point. The king also didn’t bring up the problem with Killian.
Rania didn’t want to bring the problem up, because she didn’t want to create another problem for herself.
“I need more poison,” Rania said to Kean when she came with her lunch. “I am running out of them.”
“Already?” Kean blinked her eyes. She sat down next to her. “You need to slow down, we need to match the time. We can’t make the king suspicious when we are not ready yet.”
“His body is built differently,” Rania explained. “He didn’t show any indication that something is wrong him, and it has been a few months.”

Kean thought about it for a while, and then nodded. “Okay, I will ask for more bottles. I can’t stock the poison too many, because I am afraid it will cause suspicion on me.”
“I understand.” Rania reassured her. She was still determined to end this whole mess, and ignored this small voice in her heart that told her to stop.
Lately, she had been thinking of another option, or reason for not killing Maximus, but none satisfied her. Probably, her anger still got a better control on her, that’s why she kept ignoring this nagging feeling.
One afternoon, someone came to her bedroom, but the warrior, who was stationed outside of her room stopped him.
Rania heard their conversation from inside. She muted the television just in time when someone knocked on the door. Apparently, the warrior had given up, and let this mysterious guest to make a conversation with Rania.
“My lady, can I have a minute or two to talk with you?”
This was the voice that Rania had never heard before. It sounded like an old man. And then there was another
knock.
Rania then took her jacket and opened the door. Behind it, she saw a man in his early seventy, wearing a white robe with the kingdom’s insignia on his left chest. She knew what position this man was; he must be the elders.
When she was little and visited the palace for the first time with her father, she saw the elder and their insignia. Alaric would explain to her who they were.

“May I help you?” Rania asked in small voice. She stood in front of the door, didn’t allow him to enter. She was not comfortable to let him in, because Maximus could be annoyed.
They had been in a good term nowadays, and she didn’t want to ruin that. More so, it was very clear that no one was allowed to visit her without his permission.
“You must be lady Rania from Black Stone pack, I am Elder Gayle. Can I have a moment with you? There is something important I want to talk about.”
