CROSSING THE BORDER novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77

“What do you mean you are going to handle this?” Rania looked at Killian suspiciously, but she couldn’t tell what was in his mind, she was trying to decipher his silence, yet only dread that came.

“You don’t need to worry. You can leave now.”

Kean could feel it, she knew something bad might happen, she could feel it deep down in her heart, though she didn’t have any evidence to support the accusation. “You will not do anything bad to her, right? She is a good person.”

“Leave, Kean,” Killian said, this time his voice was firmer, and sterner. He seemed to lose his patience with the

omega.

“Leave before someone sees us, and we will face more trouble than this.”

They were standing at the corner of the warriors‘ quarter, which meant the other warriors couldn’t see them if they were not looking to this spot, but if they did, it would be very awkward, if it was not very obvious that they were hiding something.

This spot was not common for people to meet, unless you don’t want anyone to see you.

“Okay, but please, don’t hurt her…” Kean said for the last time before she hurried away because the look on Killian’s face was very scary when she kept repeating the same thing.

Finally, when Kean left, Killian thought about what he was going to do to the healer. There was no way he would let her live.

Because once she remembered the scent that she smelled from Kean, they would be done for. He couldn’t gamble their whole plan for that.

He sighed and massaged his forehead, grumbling along the way to his bedroom. He was so pissed because he had to do an extra work.

But he had to move swiftly, because he couldn’t guarantee that healer wouldn’t say anything to the royal beta if she had figured it out first.

Killing a healer was an inconvenient job, but killing a royal beta was another problem entirely.

Rania was happy with their visit to the orphanage, and Maximus could see that.

When they walked out of the building, one of the boys, named Lyle approached her sheepishly, and then handed her the ball that they used to play earlier.

“Thank you.” Rania beamed, she leaned over and kissed the boy’s forehead, which he immediately scurried away, a little bit embarrassed, but also afraid because he caught the sight of the king, who walked toward them with alpha Kehn and the other important people in the pack.

“Happy?” Maximus asked, he stood next to Rania, he saw the ball in her hand. He also saw his mate gave a kiss to the boy.

“Yes. I am happy,” Rania said with a bright smile, and Maximus nodded.

After that, they went back to the pack house. Only when they arrived in their bedroom, Rania could feel how tired she was, but she carefully put the ball into her suitcase, so she wouldn’t forget when they returned to the palace.

“Will we visit the orphanage again?”

“Do you want to visit the orphanage again?” Maximus watched Rania put the ball inside the suitcase. She looked radiant when she was happy, and you could see it in her eyes.

“Uhm, yes, if it’s in your schedule,” Rania said in halting, because suddenly she felt self conscious with Maixmus’s question.

“I can put it in my schedule,” Maximus said without missing a beat. He didn’t even think about it twice, but because he had said that, he was going to do it.

The thought that he was going to disappoint her didn’t sit well with him.

“Thank you.”

Maximus cupped her face, she was being shy again. “You don’t need to thank me. Once we return, we will have the ceremony for you as the queen.”
