Rania couldn’t think straight, everything went too fast. She didn’t prepare for this when she felt the excruciating pain from the mark on

her neck.

Her scream echoed in the main hall, she tried to free herself from the king’s arms, that trapped her in agony. He marked her in front of so many people.

The king marked her in front of alpha Caden, in his own ceremony, and he couldn’t do anything about it. Today people would remember as the day of the king found his fated mate, not the day of Caden as the alpha.

However, the alpha buried that fact on the back of his head, because he was burning with rage. If it was not for his beta, who stopped him, he would have charged toward the king and separated both of them.

It was a humiliation for him.

Marking was a sacred activity between two fated

they mated for the first time.

However, the Mad King didn’t do it by rule plate, which should be done in private, and to alleviate the pain, it should be done after

He made his own rule.

“Don’t,” Sebastian said sternly. He held Caden’s hand firmly when the alpha wanted to stop the madness. “You can’t. Calm down.”

“I don’t want to calm down,” Caden growled in a low voice, because he felt this urge to snap the king’s neck.

If only he had a clear mind, he would understand that was not possible to do. Hurting a royal family would send you to an early grave.

However, exasperation consumed him in a way that he had never imagined before. This was the woman that belonged to him. Someone that he would keep in his bed. He didn’t allow anyone to touch her, but now she was in another man’s arms.

“You are being irrational,” Sebastian groaned. His grip on Caden tightened. If he let him go, he knew the king would kill him right there and then, and not only that, their pack would perish along with him. “She is only your plaything. You rejected her, remember?

Sebastian was right, but Caden didn’t want to understand, what he saw was; someone got their hand on the thing that belonged to him.

It was his father, the previous alpha, Winter, who approached him and put his hand on his shoulder.

“You will get all of us killed! Step back!” Winter growled to his ear, the pressure on his shoulder forced Caden to relent.

But, his eyes were on Rania and the king, he watched how her scream died down, as her body went limp. The king caught her and carried her in his arms.

However, before he left, the Mad King caught the burning hatred in Caden’s eyes. His brows slightly raised up, but he scoffed derisively, as if he was mocking the alpha before he turned around and left the mess.

The ceremony was ruined. No one would remember this as Caden’s initiation. People would talk about the king instead of him whenever they spoke about his initiation.

Caden hated it. This was another level of humiliation in his eyes.
