Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 140

The doctor added, “Although the worst is over, when he’ll wake up is still uncertain. We’ll need to keep monitoring him.”

At that moment, Charlotte stepped out into the hallway.

She’d already removed her surgical mask, her gaze empty and distant as she brushed past the others without a word.

Suddenly, a rough hand seized her wrist.

Darren confronted her sharply. “Charlotte, don’t you think you owe me an explanation? Why were you able to perform brain surgery? That’s not something you master in a year or two!”

Charlotte had no interest in arguing with him.

A metallic taste filled her throat; she’d already pushed her body to the breaking point to save Noah. Right now, all that mattered was getting back to check the chip’s status.

She yanked at Darren’s hand, trying to break free, but his grip was unyielding.

Darren noticed. There were times when Charlotte’s strength was almost inhuman—she could fend off a trained attack dog—but other times, like now, she was helpless against even a light hold.

Something was seriously wrong with her body.

“Regardless, you operated without a license. If Noah ends up with complications, I can’t just let you walk away!”

Charlotte’s eyes flashed cold. “That’s your attitude toward the person who just saved your son’s life?”

If it weren’t for her, Noah would have died on that operating table.

Darren scoffed. “Savior? You saved your own son. That’s not a favor—that’s your responsibility!”

He turned to the others. “Xena, sis—stay with Noah. If he wakes up, call me immediately.”

Without giving Charlotte a chance to resist, Darren dragged her out of the hospital corridor.

Xena watched them disappear toward the elevators, her hand clenching into a fist.

She hated the idea of Darren and that woman alone together…

But right now, the most important thing was making sure Noah never woke up.

No, she couldn’t let that little brat open his eyes again.
