Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 151

“Mr. Harrington, one of these three glasses is laced with deadly poison! You drank the first two and nothing happened, so this last one—it has to be the poisoned one!”

The bodyguard’s shout was edged with barely contained panic.

Yet Charlotte calmly held the final glass, a faint, icy smile tugging at her lips.

“Mr. Harrington, those were your own words: once you finish these three drinks, you’ll let me go. The drinks have been served. Will you keep your promise?”

Darren stared at her, searching her cold, unwavering eyes—eyes so detached they might as well have been carved from stone. Something inside him caved in without warning.

His voice came out rough, almost broken. “Charlotte, do you really not believe this glass is poisoned?”

It was the only explanation he could cling to.

She couldn’t truly not care whether he lived or died. She must think he was bluffing. She had to.

Charlotte gave a slow shake of her head, her gaze steady and clear. “No, I believe you. You said it’s poison, so it is.”

Before she finished speaking, Darren seized her wrist.

His words trembled with barely restrained fury. “If you know it’s poisoned, how can you still offer it to me?”

His voice was nearly a growl.

He refused to believe this woman—who had once endured his cold indifference, even humiliation—was now willing to stand against him to the bitter end.

He tried, one more time, to give her an out. “If you’ll just admit you’re being stubborn, I’ll tell you straight: I haven’t even registered my marriage with Xena yet, I—”

“I have no interest in your affairs with Ms. Lancaster,” Charlotte cut him off coldly. “If you won’t drink, then I will. All I ask is that, once I do, you’ll finally let me go.”

It’s just a glass of poison, she thought. At worst, she’d end up in the hospital.

But if she missed her chance to marry Bradley today—now that would truly be the end.
