Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 77

Mr. Wood was already feeling guilty, and Charlotte’s words sent a jolt of panic through his eyes. “W-what are you talking about?”

Charlotte spoke bluntly, exposing him on the spot. “Why did you stop adding aconitine to the medicine?”

His pupils shrank, and the calm facade vanished from his face. “How could you possibly know I put aconitine in?”

Without responding, Charlotte reached into the medical kit behind him and pulled out the small bottle of poison. Mr. Wood lunged, grabbing her wrist in alarm.

“Ms. Lee, you heard what Mr. Nathan Harrington said just now. You can’t drink this stuff, or I’m finished!”

His frantic words didn’t so much as faze Charlotte.

She let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Don’t worry, I’m not planning to hurt you. But you’re going to help me with something.”

His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. “W-what do you want me to do?”

He’d already poisoned her once; now she had him by the throat, and there was no turning back.

Charlotte leaned in, whispering her plan into his ear.

Mr. Wood’s eyes went wide in disbelief. He glanced at her, saw the unwavering determination in her gaze, and finally nodded.

Soon after, the freshly prepared medicine was brought in. Mr. Wood began carefully unwrapping the gauze from her face.

As the layers of bandage came away, a thick black ointment was all that remained on Charlotte’s skin. Nearby, the housekeeper surreptitiously activated her phone’s camera, streaming the scene live to Xena’s phone.

Hidden away in the bathroom, Xena gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles whitened, eyes glued to the screen. She sneered, “Lottie, let’s see what kind of hideous monster you really are.”

In the shaky phone video, the doctor used a towel to gently wipe away the dark ointment. Inch by inch, flawless ivory skin appeared. Finally, as the last trace of black ointment vanished, Charlotte’s unveiled face was revealed without a single imperfection.

Clatter!

Xena’s phone slipped from her hands and crashed to the floor. She staggered, catching herself against the wall, barely able to steady her trembling body.

A voice called from outside, urging them on. “Lottie, Mr. Wood, Mr. Harrington wants you both in the living room—now!”

“Understood,” Mr. Wood replied.

As he reached for the door, Charlotte leaned in close, her voice low. “Don’t forget what you promised me.”

“I—I won’t…”

He was so entranced by her face that he could barely think straight. With a tone bordering on reverence, he said, “Ms. Lee, let’s go out together.”

Charlotte gave a soft hum of assent, then walked with calm, measured steps down the corridor toward the living room.

In the living room, Nathan Harrington’s raspy, commanding voice echoed from the sofa. “Tell me, if that bodyguard girl really is my Charlotte, what will you do about next week’s wedding?”

Darren replied, his tone cool and certain. “First of all, Lottie can’t possibly be Charlotte. Second, Xena is the only woman I will ever marry. Nothing—and no one—is going to change that.”
