Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 78

Charlotte instinctively paused mid-step when she heard those words.

A moment later, she fell in line behind Mr. Wood and followed him toward the sitting area.

When they reached the sofa, she stood quietly behind Mr. Wood.

With respectful formality, Mr. Wood addressed the man seated on the couch. “Mr. Nathan Harrington, Ms. Lee’s face has been completely healed!”

Nathan Harrington’s voice shook with excitement. “Step aside! Let me see—is she really my Charlotte?”

Mr. Wood immediately moved out of the way.

But before anyone could react further, a piercing scream ripped through the living room—“Die, you home-wrecking whore!”

Charlotte spun around just in time to catch a flash of metal.

Xena’s closest confidante—the housekeeper—was lunging at her, brandishing a fruit knife aimed straight for Charlotte’s face.

Charlotte twisted out of the way. With a swift, practiced sweep of her leg, she knocked the woman to the floor and pinned her down, pressing her knee into the woman’s back. In one fluid motion, Charlotte wrenched the knife away and tossed it down the hallway.

By chance, the blade landed right at Xena’s feet.

Charlotte’s gaze snapped up, locking with Xena’s. She let Xena’s pallor and trembling confusion wash over her, a glint of challenge in her eyes.

Beneath her, the housekeeper kept up her furious tirade. “Lottie, you tramp! Seducing Mr. Harrington—if I can’t deal with you, God will!”

“Call the police. Get this woman out of here,” Darren said coldly, rising from the sofa.

Suddenly, Xena burst forward from the hallway, crying as she pleaded, “Mr. Harrington, please—don’t have her arrested! Don’t!”

Nathan Harrington caught sight of her and lurched to his feet, visibly shaken.

His pupils contracted in disbelief. For a long moment, his parched lips trembled, then finally, a cry of joy broke from deep within his chest. “Charlotte! It really is my Charlotte!”

Noah, seated on the far end of the sofa, looked completely stunned.

But in the next instant, the light in his eyes faded, replaced by a stormy darkness. He clenched his small fists in silence.

Behind Charlotte, Darren—who still hadn’t seen her face—grew impatient at Nathan Harrington’s continued insistence. His tone was sharp and irritated. “Grandpa, are you really that senile? I told you—she can’t be Charlotte!”

Before he could say another word, Charlotte turned to face him at last.

“Mr. Harrington. It’s been a long time. Are you satisfied with my face now?”
