Several department heads and professors instantly went quiet, glancing at each other but not daring to speak.

“You let some nobody operate on the Brown family’s daughter, and now you won’t even admit it, huh?” Miles’s tone grew colder by the second. “Is this how Orlathis Hospital handles things?”

Quinn wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked toward Gavin, silently begging for help.

Gavin was just about to speak when a sharp voice cut in. “Mr. Brown, Mr. Hancock, you’re finally here.”

It was Jennifer. Blood trickled from her forehead, and her face was still swollen and red from when Sienna had slammed her against the wall.

She looked a complete mess as she shrieked, “These people have lost their minds. That no-name girl doesn’t even have a medical license-who knows if she even finished high school-and yet she pretended to be a doctor and forced her way into the operating room. When I tried to stop her, she beat me up like this.”

“And they!” She pointed furiously at the others, her voice breaking. “They all just let that brat do whatever she wanted. Mr. Brown, you have to get justice for me. You can’t let them cover this up.

“Oh, and the one who hit Miss Brown with the car is connected to that brat. I say she planned all this just to dodge responsibility. Who knows what she did to Miss Brown on that operating table? Mr. Brown, you’d better get someone to check her over right away.”

Jennifer had completely snapped. Gavin was a giant in Aurathen’s medical field, yet he was actually backing Sienna-and even wanted to throw her out of the industry.

She had studied at one of the top three international universities and trained under famous mentors. At Orlathis Hospital, she was admired everywhere she went. But now it was all over.

If Gavin blacklisted her, her future would be ruined. If hers was destroyed, then everyone else could go down with her.

“Dr. Curry!” The professors and department heads all turned red with fury, barely holding back curses.

Jennifer bared her teeth, crying as she tried to rush toward Mason.

But the second she lunged forward and opened her mouth, Mason’s eyes lifted slightly. His indifferent glance froze her in place. He showed no emotion, but her skin prickled as if she had fallen into an ice pit. The words stuck in her throat.

Mason, cold and strikingly handsome, looked up just a little, the corners of his eyes tilting up slightly. That small movement made his already sharp, stunning face look dangerously seductive.

His gaze shifted to Gavin. “Mr. Hurlbutt, care to explain?” His voice was calm, almost lazy, but carried a chill.

Gavin’s expression didn’t change. “Mr. Brown, I would never gamble with Miss Brown’s life. Given her condition, not only in Orlathis City but across Aurathen, the only person who could save her is the very person you call a brat.”

“Mr. Hurlbutt, by saying that in front of Dr. Preston, what are you making Dr. Preston look like?” Jennifer quickly jumped in, seizing her chance to stir up trouble.

Behind Mason, a young man and woman-clearly Herman’s students-were going through Sophie’s medical records and test reports. As they scanned the data, both of their expressions changed drastically.

The male student’s eyes widened. “Are you kidding me? Miss Brown’s condition was this complicated. Even the smallest mistake could’ve been fatal.

“No matter how skilled that girl is, she’s far too inexperienced to be performing surgery. Letting her operate on Miss Brown -wasn’t that just reckless? Isn’t Dr. Fairbank here? Why wasn’t he the lead surgeon?”
