For Pansy, nothing in the world mattered more than her precious daughter. If Amanda’s presence made Sienna uncomfortable, she would, of course, put her real daughter first.
Amanda’s face turned pale in an instant, her fingers clenching tight. She couldn’t believe that just because she wasn’t their biological daughter, they could toss her aside so easily.
Sienna glanced at her parents. She could tell they weren’t like the cold and heartless people in the Fairbank family. After all, they had lived with Amanda for twenty years, day and night. There had to be some feelings there.
She didn’t want to put them in a tough spot right after coming home. Besides, whatever trouble Amanda caused couldn’t really shake her.
She shook her head. “I don’t mind.”
Amanda quickly put on a touched expression, her eyes turning red as her voice trembled. “Thank you, Sienna. I’ll take good care of you from now on. The two of us should get along well.”
Sienna had no interest in the act. She just nodded coldly.
“Alright, why are we all standing at the door? Isn’t Sienna hungry?” Gerard’s eyes were still a little red, but his stern face was filled with tenderness. As he spoke, he reached for Sienna’s canvas bag.
When he lifted it, he froze for a second. It was so light, almost empty.
His heart ached. His precious daughter had left the Fairbank family with practically nothing. Clearly, she hadn’t lived well all those years.
The group headed toward the main house. Pansy held tightly onto Sienna’s hand, her voice filled with joy. “Sienna, I cooked a lot of dishes for you myself. I didn’t know what you liked, so I made a bit of everything. If there’s something you enjoy, tell me, and I’ll make it for you every day.”
Sienna nodded. “Thank you, Mom.”
“Don’t say that.” Every time Sienna called her Mom, Pansy’s heart melted. “Cooking for my daughter, watching you eat food I made-I’ve dreamed of this moment for twenty years.”
Gerard chimed in right away, “I helped too.”
The three of them were warm and happy together, while Amanda was completely left out.
Amanda walked behind them, and her eyes almost burned with jealousy. The favoritism was way too obvious. All that talk about nothing changing when the biological daughter came back-it was all lies.
When they entered the main hall, an elderly man in a dark suit was already sitting there. His gray hair was neatly combed, and he had been stretching his neck, watching the door anxiously.
As soon as he heard footsteps, he quickly pulled his head back, put on a stern face, and sat upright in his wheelchair. He even lifted a cup of cold coffee, pretending to sip it like he was deep in thought.
“Sienna’s back.” Pansy quickly introduced them. “Sienna, this is Grandpa.”
Sienna looked at the old man. She noticed how he kept sneaking glances at her even though he was trying to look serious. Her lips curved slightly. “Grandpa.”

“Yeah, Rolf answered with fake calm, setting the coffee cup down slowly. “Good that you’re back.”

His eyes fell on her face, which perfectly combined Gerard’s and Pansy’s best features, and his expression softened with satisfaction. One look was enough-she was without a doubt a Cooper.
He had already investigated her background. Even though she grew up in the countryside, the moment she stepped into the Cooper family’s main hall, she stayed calm and collected.
She didn’t look nervous at all standing in a place that symbolized the peak of wealth and power. It was as if she naturally belonged there. That kind of composure couldn’t be faked.
