Pansy was thrilled that Sienna liked the room she had carefully decorated and the clothes she had picked out herself. She thought this had to be some kind of bond only a mother and daughter could share.
She pulled out clothes from the closet, holding them up against Sienna. “Look, every piece from Yara Bloom looks like it was made just for you. More will be arriving in the next couple of days. Just tell me what styles you like.
Sienna stared at her in disbelief. This would probably wipe out Yara Bloom’s entire stock.
She quickly said, “Thank you, Mom, but this is already too much. I can’t wear that many clothes.”
“Why not?” Pansy cupped Sienna’s face, studying her lovingly from side to side. “My precious daughter is so beautiful, born to wear clothes like these. You should look stunning all the time. Even changing ten times a day would be fine.”
Feeling the warmth of her mother’s hands and seeing the love written all over her face, Sienna smiled, and her expression softened.
Amanda, who had been peeking in from the doorway, saw the shelves full of luxury goods and Pansy’s glowing, satisfied smile as she showed them off to Sienna.
The warm, intimate scene of mother and daughter together made Amanda’s chest ache. Jealousy burned through her.
Just then, Sienna seemed to notice her stare and gave her a cool glance before looking away, continuing her conversation with Pansy.
That calm, unbothered look, as if everything was only natural, felt to Amanda like Sienna was deliberately showing off to her. It was a direct slap in the face.
Pansy stayed in Sienna’s room chatting for quite a while, wishing she could make up for the twenty years they had missed in one night.
But remembering her daughter had stopped at Orlathis Hospital on her way back and performed a two-hour surgery, she forced herself to calm down and let Sienna rest.
Her daughter was finally back by her side-there was no rush.
After Pansy left reluctantly, Sienna got up, grabbed her canvas bag, and set it casually on the desk.
She sank into the pink ergonomic chair, unzipped the bag, and pulled out a slim laptop. She powered it on.
Her fingers tapped across the black keyboard as she logged into the Hollow Dreadlands’ internal network.
On the screen, a strange-looking door creaked open with special effects, followed by bold red text spreading like blood across the screen: [Welcome back, Hades.]
By the time the words fully appeared, the blood had covered the whole screen.
Sienna didn’t need to guess-this was Greenfang’s handiwork.
Greenfang typed; [Holy cow. Is that really Hades? I never thought I’d live to see this.]
Reaper: [Didn’t Hades say after returning to Aurathen that she didn’t want to scare her family and would stay away from Hollow Dreadlands business for a while?]
Butcher: [Boss, why are you back? Miss us already?]

Chapter 18
The moment Sienna logged in, the group chat lit up like fireworks.
She looked at the familiar codenames on the screen, feeling a little dazed. The last time she had seen them was four years
ago
That was the day her parents brought her back to the Fairbank family. She had been so happy then, finally able to live with her parents.
To keep her Hollow Dreadlands identity from scaring the Fairbank family members or dragging them into danger, she had chosen to cut ties and live like an ordinary person.
Thinking back now, she felt foolish. She didn’t know why she had clung so hard to something like family back then.
The thought of the Fairbanks made her think of the Coopers. She wondered if they would mind who she really was.
Her long lashes fluttered. After a few seconds of thought, her gaze turned cool again. She typed slowly: [Yeah.]
Her one-word reply sent the chat into a frenzy. Messages flew by like a live stream, just as noisy as four years ago.
