Chapter 23
Sienna barely lifted her eyes to glance at him. The guard froze on the spot.

A faint smile curved on Sienna’s red lips. With a flick of her fingers, she held up a dark gold card decorated with ornate gold
patterns.
The moment the guard saw it, his face went pale and his legs nearly gave out. He straightened up fast and bowed a perfect ninety degrees. “Welcome, valued member of Zenith Hall.”
Lauren and Jessica were both stunned. They couldn’t believe Sienna was actually a member of Zenith Hall.
But no matter how hard it was to believe, they saw it with their own eyes-Sienna handing the dark gold card to the guard, then casually slipping her hands into her pockets as she walked away with full confidence.
Lauren knew where she was heading. It was the newest section of the Golden Throne Club-Zenith Hall. A place built exclusively for the most powerful families and people in Orlathis City.
The Fairbank family wasn’t even qualified to stand at its door. Yet Sienna had a pass.
Lauren was so shocked that he forgot to help Jessica up. He just stumbled after Sienna.
Zenith Hall had complicated security checks, and access was tightly controlled. He watched as the guard placed Sienna’s card on the scanner.
“Identity verified. Valued Zenith Hall member, you have access to Heaven’s Gate. The entire staff of the Golden Throne Club welcomes you,” the cold electronic voice announced.
The private elevator beside them slid open. A sharply dressed attendant, even higher-level than the previous one, stepped out and bowed respectfully. “Good evening, Miss Cooper. Your friends are waiting for you in your room. Shall I take you there?”
The place went dead silent. Lauren stared at the card in the guard’s hand, then at the attendant bowing so respectfully to Sienna. His face turned ashen, his eyes wide.
He trembled, his lips shaking. “How is this possible? A Zenith Hall member? Heaven’s Gate? She’s just some country girl. How could she-”
Jessica was already falling apart from everything Sienna had done. The sweet, innocent look she had worked so hard to maintain shattered instantly. Her nails dug into her palms, but she didn’t even notice. She was so shocked and full of disbelief that her whole body trembled.
She had only just gotten back into the rich life. To her, Zenith Hall was like royalty-only territory.
Yet Sienna-a poor girl from the slums-had a pass. And not just any pass, but one that gave her access to the best suite.
“Sienna!” Lauren shouted, refusing to accept it. He rushed forward a couple of steps, yelling after her.
As the attendant respectfully led her, Sienna stepped into the private elevator.
She heard her name but only turned back with a lazy glance. Her clear, bright eyes swept over Lauren and Jessica’s embarrassed, stunned faces.
She tugged at the corner of her lips, forming a cold, mocking smile. Her gaze was icy and detached, but Lauren felt the weight of her looking down on him-and it was crushing.

She was looking down on him. And he couldn’t figure out why she had the right to.
Lauren’s face twisted in rage. He looked like he was about to explode.

The elevator doors slid shut, cutting everything off. Lauren and Jessica were left behind, looking like two pathetic clowns under the stares of the crowd.
“Hey, Mason, isn’t that the pretty girl we saw at the hospital today?” On the second floor of Zenith Hall, Miles leaned lazily against the carved railing, resting his chin in his hand as he looked down. “She saved Sophie. Shouldn’t we go thank her in person?”
The dim, shifting lights in the hall stretched the shadow of the tall man beside him.
He wore a fitted black shirt, his handsome face carrying a lazy, relaxed look. His half-lidded eyes swept down casually, full of
nonchalance.
