From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 141

Olivia Bennett lifted her eyelids for a brief glance, her face unreadable and voice flat as a pancake, “Whatever makes you happy.”

That wasn’t the reaction someone had been hoping for.

But Lavinia Bennett just grinned wider, undeterred, her red lips curling up in victory.

She was sure Olivia was faking it.

Pretending to be so cold, so indifferent—when deep down, Lavinia was certain Olivia was downright devastated.

Lavinia’s smile sharpened as she turned, sing-song, to Daniel Gill, “Daniel, what do you think?”

Daniel’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He shot a quick look at Olivia.

But Olivia’s gaze had already drifted off, nowhere near them. With a bitter swallow, Daniel forced out the words, “It looks nice.”

“I think so too,” Lavinia teased, flicking her eyes at Olivia with a smug tilt of her chin. “Olivia’s makeup artist did a decent job. Guess it wasn’t a total waste coming here today.”

Olivia didn’t bother responding, eager to get this over with. “If you’re both ready, let’s move over here for the photos.”

Without another word, she strode away.

Lavinia tugged Daniel’s arm. “Let’s go.”

He nodded, and the two followed Olivia across the studio.

Inside, the lights were set up, everything ready to go.

Lavinia looked around with a syrupy smile and called out, “We’ll need your help with the poses, Olivia.”

She said it like she was asking a favor, but there wasn’t a hint of shyness—just a little extra sparkle of pride, like she’d just won herself a blue ribbon at the county fair.

Olivia picked up her camera, all business. “Could the groom take a seat? Bride, stand behind him and wrap your arms around his neck from behind.”

Her tone was strictly professional—no warmth, no edge, just focus.
