From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 175

Lavinia Bennett froze the moment she heard the name Olivia Bennett.

She put her phone down and followed the line of Claire Camp’s finger.

And there, across the room, Olivia Bennett was laughing with Carlson Baker, a bite of cheesecake halfway to her mouth.

Claire Camp’s eyes went wide, almost comically so.

She couldn’t quite believe what she was seeing. She leaned closer to Lavinia, whispering, “That’s her, right?”

Lavinia’s brow furrowed, skepticism all over her face, but there was no mistaking that profile. Reluctantly, she nodded. “Yeah. That’s Olivia Bennett.”

Claire let out a low whistle. “Seriously? What’s she doing here? I thought she ditched the Bennett clan ages ago. And with her situation now, I doubt she’d even make it past the Baker mansion’s front gate. How’d she score an invite to this party?”

She was practically buzzing with questions, the confusion written all over her.

Lavinia shook her head, eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Beats me.”

Claire bit her lip, her gaze flicking to the man beside Olivia. “And who’s that guy with her? Do you know him?”

From where they were, they could only catch the side of Carlson’s face—and neither of them was familiar with him.

Lavinia studied them for a moment, a thought popping into her head. “She got married recently, didn’t she?”

Claire’s jaw nearly hit the floor. “Olivia Bennett got married?” Her voice carried, drawing a few curious glances, so she quickly covered her mouth, lowering her voice. “Married? So, you think that guy’s her husband?”

Lavinia considered the silhouettes, the easy way they laughed together. The ages seemed to match up. It was a fair guess.

But she didn’t want to sound too sure in front of Claire. She shrugged. “I’ve never seen his face before. No idea.”
