From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 194

Olivia Bennett frowned, but it wasn’t exactly a stern look—at least not to Ethan Carter. To him, she just looked adorably frustrated.

His gaze softened, and a smile crept onto his face, lighting up his features.

Olivia shot him a glare with those big, expressive eyes. “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing’s funny,” Ethan replied quietly, but the corners of his mouth refused to cooperate.

He kept watching her, finally admitting, “I can’t sleep when I’m away.”

Olivia arched a brow. “And you can sleep just fine at home?”

Ethan nodded, his gaze gentle. “Guess I’m just used to having you around.”

She froze for a second, totally speechless, her mind blank. After a beat, she gave an awkward little nod. “Well, I’ll leave you to get ready. I’m heading downstairs.”

She turned to go, but before she could even take a step, his hand gently caught her wrist.

She stared at him in surprise. “What are you doing?”

He tugged her closer so she was right next to him. “Sit,” he said, patting the edge of the bed.

Olivia hesitated, shifting her wrist. “Seriously, I need to go downstairs.”

But Ethan didn’t let go.

She gave in, perching at the edge of the bed, her back to him.

He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. His voice dropped to a whisper. “I heard what you said yesterday.”

Olivia stiffened, her fingers clutching the comforter so tightly her knuckles turned white.

She swallowed, then tried to play it cool. “What did I say?”

“That stuff you told that guy.”

Olivia corrected him, “His name’s Daniel Gill.”

“Doesn’t matter,” Ethan said, looking at her. “You really don’t remember?”

She chewed her lip. “I talked to him about a lot of things yesterday.”
