From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 196

A few days ago, Nannie Bruce had started a new project, so she was constantly busy. Their schedules were totally mismatched—Olivia was awake when Nannie was asleep, and vice versa.

Sometimes Olivia would text Nannie in the morning, but by the time Nannie replied, Olivia was already fast asleep.

And so it went, over and over again, their conversations turning into a string of missed messages, more like leaving voicemails than actually chatting.

But honestly, it didn’t affect their friendship at all.

One afternoon, as Olivia Bennett was scrolling through her feed—laughing uncontrollably at something she’d just read—Ethan Carter sat down beside her, curiosity all over his face.

“What’s so funny?” Ethan leaned in, trying to sneak a peek.

Olivia quickly hid her phone, eyes glinting mischievously. “Hey, Ethan, how about a little challenge? Let’s see if you can answer my riddle.”

Ethan raised an eyebrow. “A riddle, huh?”

“Pretty much!” Olivia grinned.

He nodded, clearly up for it. “And what do I get if I’m right?”

He sounded so confident, just waiting for some grand reward.

Olivia smirked. “A gold star from me.”

Ethan scoffed. “No way. Too cheap.”

Olivia’s eyes sparkled as she thought for a second. “Alright, how about this: every time you get one right, you can ask me for a favor—any favor, no questions asked. Deal?”

Ethan narrowed his eyes, interest piqued. “You sure about that?”

“Totally.” Olivia nodded emphatically. “It’s not like you’re gonna get it right anyway.”

Ethan tilted his chin up, signaling her to go ahead. “Hit me.”

He looked like he already had the win in the bag.

Olivia cleared her throat, glancing at her phone. “Okay, listen up: Why is a flower so funny?”

Ethan immediately frowned, thinking hard.
