From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 269

Mason Bennett pulled his gaze back, drumming his fingers lightly on the arm of the couch. "If Olivia’s coming to the wedding, Elaine, that means she’s softening up. You should use this chance to talk to her, get closer. This wedding—let’s make it about the two of them."

Carmen Gates frowned, clearly disagreeing with his last sentence. "This is Lavinia’s wedding. She only gets this day once. Making it about Olivia and Ethan isn’t fair to her at all."

Mason’s tone sharpened. "The ceremony has its order, nothing’s changing that. The guests are all here for Lavinia and Daniel. I’m just telling you to stay sharp."

Carmen paused, then nodded. "Alright. Got it."

"And another thing—you need to remind Lavinia, every second, to keep her cool around Olivia. No biting comments, no attitude. Actually, better if she just steers clear of Olivia altogether. Sees her? She walks away. Simple as that…"

He kept going, fussing and fretting.

Carmen nodded along, but his words went in one ear and right out the other.

She’d heard all this a thousand times already. No wonder Lavinia was fed up.

Meanwhile, Olivia and Ethan had just pulled out of the hospital parking lot.

Sunlight flooded the car, warm and bright. Olivia glanced out at the clear blue sky.

"Let’s not go home just yet," she said, turning to Ethan with a mischievous glint in her eye.

Ethan raised an eyebrow, hands steady on the wheel. "Oh, yeah?"

She played with a loose strand of hair, thoughtful. "Since we’re already out, and the weather’s gorgeous... I want to get a haircut."

He shot her a quick look. "Really? You sure?"

Olivia’s lips curled into a playful smile. "Didn’t I say I wanted a change? New hair, new mood."

"You really think a haircut changes your mood?"

"Of course!" Olivia grinned. "I’ve had long hair forever. I’m bored of it. Short hair is a whole new vibe, a whole new me. I’ll look in the mirror and feel awesome. That’s what I call a mood change."

Ethan couldn’t help but laugh.

Olivia eyed him, mock offended. "What’s so funny?"
