From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 280

Ethan Carter’s face was dark as thunder. He pressed his lips into a hard line and spit out a single, icy word. “Out.”

The word hung in the air, sharp as broken glass. Two security guards in crisp navy uniforms hustled over, posture stiff and alert.

“Mr. Carter,” they both said, stopping in front of him with military precision.

Ethan’s cold, steely gaze landed on Catherine Blair. “Throw her out,” he ordered, voice like winter frost. “And don’t ever let her back in.”

The guards barely glanced at Catherine, their expressions all business. If Ethan Carter was angry, that meant someone had really crossed a line.

They exchanged a look, then nodded, “Yes, sir.”

Before Catherine could catch her breath, each guard grabbed an arm. She was no match for their trained grip—she was practically lifted off her feet as they started toward the door.

For a second, she just stared, stunned. She’d finally gotten a chance to see Ethan Carter face to face, and now she was being dragged away? No way. She was not about to leave without making her mark.

With a sly, defiant grin, she called out, her voice weirdly casual, “Guess Ethan’s a bit busy right now. Maybe we’ll finish this another time.”

The words hung in the air, thick with implication—just vague enough to set the rumor mill spinning, just sharp enough to cut deep.

The two guards looked horrified, suddenly understanding exactly how Catherine had managed to get on Ethan’s bad side. They hustled her out even faster, not wanting her to say anything else that could blow up the room.

As they passed Olivia Bennett, Catherine shot her a look—eyelids low, mouth twisted in a smirk, challenge burning in her eyes.

Nannie Bruce, standing tall and fierce beside Olivia, saw it all. She bristled, practically vibrating with anger.

“That—” she started, but Olivia squeezed her hand gently, shaking her head just enough to stop her.
