From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 283

Ethan Carter’s voice was calm, but there was a cocky edge to it. “Heck, I could handle ten kids, no problem.”

Olivia Bennett lifted her head off his shoulder, eyes wide. “Oh, no way. I’m not having ten!”

Ethan just shrugged. “One’s enough for me.”

Olivia was already feeling drowsy. “Good idea.”

Ethan led her to the lounge, helped her onto the little daybed, and tucked a cozy blanket around her. He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Get some rest. If you need me, just call.”

She murmured a soft “okay,” eyes already closing.

Ethan slipped out, heading back to his desk. He’d barely sat down when Evan Dale knocked and stepped in, carrying a vase filled with bright blue forget-me-nots—just the ones Olivia had admired earlier.

Evan set the vase on Ethan’s desk. “Mr. Carter, the flowers are all set. Do you—”
