From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 282

"That’s not just me trying to make you feel better," Ethan Carter said, clearly flustered as he tried to explain himself. He was so caught up in his words that he didn’t notice the sly glimmer in Olivia Bennett’s eyes.

Worried Olivia might doubt him, he reached out and took the bouquet from her hands. "I really do love them. Honestly."

He should’ve guessed it was from her.

If he’d known, he never would’ve acted so indifferent about the flowers earlier.

Olivia arched an eyebrow, a soft smile playing on her lips. "You’re sure you really like them?"

"Absolutely," Ethan replied without missing a beat. After all, she gave them to him—how could he not love them?

Holding the flowers in one arm, he leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Anything from you, I’ll always love."

Olivia’s lips curled into a wider smile. "Good. That’s what I like to hear."

Ethan gazed at her, his eyes full of warmth. "Let’s go upstairs."

"Okay," she answered with a nod.

The elevator carried them straight up to the office floor.

Ethan balanced the bouquet in one hand and held Olivia’s with the other.

Just then, Evan Dale rounded the corner and spotted them. "Hey, Olivia," he greeted cheerfully.

Olivia gave him a polite nod and smile. "Hey, Evan."

"I’ll leave you two to it," Evan said, already making to walk away—but then Ethan called after him.

"Wait up."

Evan turned back. "Yes, Mr. Carter?"

Ethan held out the bouquet. "Could you have someone put these in a vase and set them on my desk?"

Evan was taken aback for a second, eyeing the massive, colorful bouquet. It was the first time Ethan had ever wanted flowers in his office, let alone front and center on his desk.

He’d actually assumed Ethan was giving the flowers to Olivia, not the other way around.

But, seeing how proud Ethan looked, there was no doubt—these were from Olivia.

Sure enough, as Evan reached out to take the bouquet, Ethan added, "They’re from my wife."
