From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 315

Olivia Bennett grinned, looking around the living room. “Wow, this looks amazing! The flowers, the balloons—who did all this? Mom?”

“Damian,” Beatty said, nodding toward Damian Franklin. “He taught me how to set it all up.”

Damian gave a little shrug, a hint of shyness in his voice. “I just hope you like it. I wasn’t sure what you’d want.”

Without missing a beat, Olivia nodded. “I love it. Seriously.”

Honestly, just being here with the people she loved—family, fiancé—Olivia felt like she could’ve done without all the decorations. This was already everything she needed.

Beatty glanced at Olivia’s belly and took her hand, ushering her toward the couch. “Come on, Olivia, have a seat.”

Olivia eased herself onto the sofa. There were bowls of grapes, strawberries, chips, and all kinds of snacks laid out on the coffee table. Beatty handed her a couple of cookies and a handful of berries.

Damian’s gaze softened, the affection obvious in his eyes. He looked around at everyone, then announced, “Why don’t you guys sit and relax for a bit? I’ve still got a few things to finish up in the kitchen.”

Olivia shot him a surprised look. “Dad, you’re cooking?”

Damian just laughed, nodding. “Of course I am! It’s your birthday, and I’m not exactly crafty, but I can whip up a homemade meal. I never really got the chance before, so I want to do it right this time.”

All those years he’d missed—he’d never really make up for them, but he’d do whatever he could now.

Olivia’s chest tightened with emotion. She looked at Damian for a long moment before offering him a bright smile. “Your cooking is the best, Dad. I’m a lucky girl today. But you’re working so hard…”

Damian still smiled, waving her off. “That’s no trouble at all. If you like my food, I’ll cook for you every day.” He turned to head back to the kitchen. “Alright, I’ll get back to it. Everybody, just hang out!”

He disappeared into the kitchen.

Lance Carter stood up. “I’ll give you a hand, Damian.”

The rest of them settled into the living room, chatting quietly.

Lily George looked at Olivia. “You hungry yet?”

Olivia shook her head. “Not yet.” She paused, curiosity getting the better of her. “Grandma, when did you get here?”

Lily’s eyes crinkled with a smile. “Oh, we came down right after you went upstairs for a nap. What did Ethan tell you?”

Olivia instinctively looked over at Ethan Carter, who gave her an innocent, wide-eyed look.
