From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 314

"Seriously? That honest?" She blinked at him.

Ethan Carter grinned, his tone earnest. "I know exactly who I am. No point pretending otherwise."

Olivia Bennett let out a laugh. "Alright, I’ll stop teasing. Can you brush my hair? I’m starving—and so is your kid, by the way. Let’s go get some breakfast."

"Sure," Ethan replied, grabbing a brush and gently working through her hair before the two of them headed downstairs together.

Lily George was already up, sitting comfortably on the living room couch.

Olivia and Ethan called out a quick good morning before heading into the dining room.

The chef had breakfast ready and waiting. Olivia was halfway through her meal when Adelina Lane arrived, her hair still a little tousled. "You’re up early, Olivia!"

"I went to bed early last night," Olivia replied, smiling as Adelina slid into the seat next to her. A servant quickly brought over Adelina’s breakfast.

"You look beautiful today, Olivia," Adelina said, now noticing Olivia’s light makeup.

Olivia beamed, her mood instantly lifted. "Thank you, Mom. You look gorgeous too."

Adelina laughed, clearly pleased. Watching Olivia eat, she asked, "So, how’s breakfast? Anything you’re craving?"

"It’s delicious," Olivia replied. She pointed to her mug. "And this soup is amazing, Mom, you should try some."

Adelina glanced over—it was a light, sweet apple-cinnamon soup—and took a spoonful.

"Mmm, that’s so good," she said, surprised.

"Our chef just tried this recipe for the first time," Adelina mused. "If you like it, I’ll have him make it more often."

"Deal. I’ll let him know when I’m craving it again," Olivia replied.

They chatted casually as they finished up breakfast. When Adelina was done, the three of them headed out to enjoy the sunny morning.

The weather was perfect. Ethan walked with Olivia through the garden, his hand resting gently on hers. He still hadn’t told her what the surprise was, and though Olivia was curious, she didn’t press.

It wasn’t until late afternoon that Ethan finally said, "We’re going out for dinner tonight. Dad’s busy with some things, but he’ll meet us there. We’ll swing by to pick up Mom and then all go together."

By "Dad and Mom," he meant Damian Franklin and Beatty.

"Sounds good," Olivia agreed easily.

When they came downstairs to leave, the living room was empty—no sign of Adelina or Lily.

"Where are Mom and Grandma?" Olivia asked.

Ethan shrugged. "No idea. I already told them we’re eating out and gave them the address. They’ll meet us there."

"Okay then," Olivia said, heading out with him.

They drove to Damian Franklin’s place. Once parked, Ethan opened Olivia’s door and took her hand, guiding her inside.

The moment the front door swung open—

"Pop!"

A shower of confetti and streamers burst from above, and through the sparkling rain of color, Olivia saw Beatty and the rest of the family grinning wide.
