From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 4

He would never let Olivia erase everything they’d ever had together over this one mistake.

“Olivia, just give me a little more time. Please, just wait for me a little longer?” He looked up at her, his eyes full of sincerity and a hint of desperation.-

He hated using the studio as leverage to keep her close, but he knew Olivia Bennett too well.

If he let her go now, he might lose her forever.

Just a little longer, and he’d finally be able to give Olivia Bennett everything she deserved.

“Wait for what...”

Olivia’s eyes were cold, almost icy.

“Wait until Lavinia Bennett throws her wedding invitation in my face? Or until you all decide to throw me into someone else’s bed again?”

“Olivia...”

She blinked hard. No, she wouldn’t cry. Not for a guy like Daniel Gill. He didn’t deserve her tears.

Olivia grabbed her orange juice from the table and, without a second thought, tossed it right into his face. The sticky liquid dripped down his cheeks, soaking into his suit.

“I don’t care what you want or what you’re planning. Just stay away from me. I can’t even stand the sight of you anymore. As for the studio? It’s done. Do whatever you want, I don’t care. I’ve got nothing left to lose.”

She paused, her voice sharp and bitter, “Well, except my life. Next time, maybe you’ll just hold a knife to my throat and force me to stay.”

With that, Olivia turned on her heel and stalked out, not looking back.

Daniel sat frozen, dripping orange juice, unable to move.

The air in the private dining room grew heavy, suffocating, as if it might swallow him whole.

After a long moment, he finally moved, grabbing a napkin to wipe his face, his expression bleak.

Just a little more time, he told himself. Once he sorted things out, he’d go to Olivia, apologize, and she’d forgive him. She loved him—of course she’d take him back.

Olivia kept her head down, not wanting him to see her like this. She accepted the napkins and water, murmuring, “Thank you.”

“No problem.” The man hesitated, then added, “Are you… pregnant? My wife was just like this when we were expecting our first kid—couldn’t keep anything down for weeks. It gets better after the first couple of months, I promise...”

Olivia’s grip tightened around the water bottle, her knuckles turning white. Something in her brain snapped, and Evan’s words faded into a dull buzz.

She had lied to Daniel Gill earlier.

A month ago, after Lavinia Bennett drugged her and shoved her into that stranger’s hotel room—and especially after learning Daniel had let it happen—she’d been in a daze for days. By the time she’d come to her senses, it was too late for any emergency pills.

She’d thought she was just sick from seeing Daniel again. But now, a cold realization crept over her.

Pregnant...

God, could it really be true?
