From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 57

Anyone coming to her for photoshoots definitely wasn’t from some wealthy or influential family.

This woman was probably just putting on airs.

With that realization, Lavinia Bennett’s confidence snapped right back into place. A flicker of disdain flashed in her eyes as she straightened up, her voice oozing with condescension. “Twisting words, just like a cranky old lady. Always a hassle. This is about money, isn’t it? How much do you want? I’ll pay you triple—just get out of here and stop bothering me.”

“The one who should leave is you,” Olivia Bennett shot back, her gaze dark as midnight. “I have clients to attend to. I don’t have time to argue with you. Leave now, or I’ll call the cops.”

Her tone was icy, sharp enough to chill the air around them.

The force of Olivia’s presence made Lavinia falter for a split second. Then, realizing what had happened, her anger flared up again, but this time she managed to keep herself in check. She took a deep breath, controlling her temper.

“All you want is to make money, right? How much could you possibly earn from that woman over there? I’ll give you a hundred grand—shoot my wedding photos instead.” Lavinia switched tactics, her eyes full of certainty.

A hundred grand was probably a year’s income for Olivia—no way she’d turn it down.

Money was the one thing Lavinia never lacked. After all the humiliation she suffered today, she was determined to get those wedding photos done—no matter what. And if Olivia had to suffer a little too, all the better.

But Olivia’s face stayed blank as ever as she replied, flatly, “No.”

Lavinia gritted her teeth. “Two hundred grand.”

“No. I. Won’t.”

Each word was soft, but unwavering. There wasn’t a hint of hesitation.

Lavinia’s eyes narrowed. Without thinking, she blurted, “Half a million. No? Fine—a million!”

This time, Olivia didn’t answer right away.

Lavinia paused, surprised, watching Olivia closely.

“A million it is. I want you to shoot me and Daniel. Personally.” She shot Olivia a defiant look, daring her to back down.

Olivia just nodded, unfazed. “Deal.”

It was just a photoshoot, after all. And Olivia knew Lavinia wouldn’t give up unless she agreed. Besides—a million dollars? She’d have to be crazy to say no.

She turned to Lavinia, her tone all business. “When do you want to schedule your shoot? Let’s write up a receipt.”

Then she called over her assistant, “Helen!”

Helen Adams snapped out of her daze, instantly picking up on Olivia’s cue, and rushed over to the front desk to grab a receipt book.

Olivia glanced back at Lavinia, her tone as calm as if she were talking to any other client. “So—when are we doing this?”
