If it weren’t for those injections keeping her alive, she would’ve died the very first day of
torture.
Gaylord followed Patricia’s orders, staying in the building for three full days. For three days, he tortured Reese.
And when it was over, he filmed the entire bloody scene.
Then the story shifts back to the day Patricia left.
After giving Gaylord his orders–to take good care of Reese–Patricia was carried downstairs.
Once her rage was spent, her mind became calm again.
All she could picture was Tyler and Caroline standing side by side, holding those powerful
guns.
“Hmph. That worthless fool’s bastard did turn out to be something,” she muttered through clenched teeth.
She also remembered Reese screaming at John during their fight, saying it was Caroline who told them to cut off Jonathan’s hands and feet.
Patricia’s fists tightened. Her heart filled with hatred toward Caroline.
But she wasn’t stupid. Even in her fury, she knew she couldn’t go head–to–head with the strongest people in the building.
Caroline and Tyler ruled the 66th floor and probably the whole building.
Patricia, no matter how angry, wasn’t dumb enough to charge at them.
When they reached the ground floor, someone asked if she really planned to leave a çar for Caroline.
Patricia glanced up at the top of the building and scoffed. “Of course we’ll leave it. What, you think I can’t afford to give her a car?”
They left behind a modified off–road vehicle–just as promised–and didn’t touch anything inside.

Patricia took one last look at the building.

It was tall, solid, and barely damaged by the acid rain outside. Her eyes narrowed as a new idea formed. “So she really thinks hiding here means she’s safe?” Patricia sneered.
She turned to one of her men. “Isn’t the government looking for new shelters? Go tell the commander that we found a perfect one.”
The man nodded, started an off–road truck, and drove away.
Patricia spat, “Caroline, you snake. And Tyler–useless bastard!”
Then she and the others climbed into their last vehicle and drove off.
From the top floor, Caroline watched them leave, a cold smile on her face.
But just as she turned to go back inside, she saw Tyler show up at the ground floor.
He had climbed into the off–road vehicle Patricia left behind and followed them.
Caroline frowned. What on earth was Tyler planning to do?
That night, after Patricia left, Caroline finally returned to her apartment.,
The sky outside was already dark.
She started by packing away the fully charged solar panels, then checked the generator to make sure it was running smoothly.
Snow had begun to fall again. It would only get heavier in the coming days. Soon, there’d be less and less sunlight.
Good thing she had prepared.
Hundreds of solar panels were stacked in storage, all charged to the brim days ago.
With that much power, she could keep her tablets, phones, and other small devices running through the deep freeze.
The bigger machines, like the fridge, were hooked up to the generator.
After feeding Raven and Jet, she decided to check her storage space,
Caroline went to Farm One.
