She was already back on the 66th floor. Tyler had hidden the RV and handed her the keys.
“I kept my promise. Here’s the replacement for your car.”
Caroline took the keys and thought, Hmm, trading a modified off–roader for a top–class RV isn’t bad at all
They also split the food among the group.
Kay got her share and was grinning from ear to ear.
But when she remembered that Freya was still alive, she felt bitter again.
Caroline smiled at her and said, “There’s plenty of time. As long as she’s still in this building, you’ll get another chance.”
Kay nodded but secretly made up her mind about something.
Caroline saw the look in her eyes and knew exactly what she was thinking, but said nothing.
The grudge between Freya and Kay was something Kay had to settle herself. Caroline wasn’t a saint–she wasn’t going to step in and help her.
After dividing everything, they went back home. Just as Caroline shut the door, Jet came flying toward her in a panic. “Human! Human! Come quick! Raven’s dying!”
Caroline’s heart skipped a beat. How could that be? Just a short while ago, he was strong enough to carry three sacks of food at once. How could he suddenly collapse?
I even gave him another bottle of spirit spring water earlier!
Was he hurt worse than I thought? Maybe I shouldn’t have made him carry all that stuff?
But I clearly saw his bleeding stop and his cuts start to heal after he drank the spring water.
Whatever the reason, Caroline ran straight to Raven’s room.
When she reached the door, she saw Raven lying weakly on the bed with his eyes closed, looking miserable.

For a moment, Caroline felt like her heart was going to burst.
She jumped onto the bed and started checking his wounds.

She poured more spring water over the stab wound and pulled out the healing cream from her storage space, smearing it all over Raven like it was free.
Soon, every wound on Raven’s body healed again.
But he still looked weak, not moving at all.
Caroline was panicking.
Even in this freezing cold, sweat started running down her forehead.
“Jet, ask Raven what’s wrong. Where does it hurt? I’ve tried everything I can think of.”
Caroline turned to Jet, who could talk with Raven, desperate for an answer.
Jet tilted his head, listened, then said, “Raven says… unless he gets six pots of meat, four bowls of kibble, 15 cans of dog food, and six packs of dog treats, he’s not getting up.”
Jet rattled off the list like he was reading a menu.
Caroline froze.
Then, after a few seconds, her whole body shook with anger. She grabbed Raven’s ear and yanked him up from the bed. “Raven! You freaking tricked me? Just for food? You’re faking it? Do you know how scared I was?!”
Caroline was furious.
Usually, when Raven messed around with Jet or acted proud, she didn’t care. But this? This was too much.
Raven must’ve realized his human was truly mad. He rolled his eyes, sat up timidly, and started bumping his big head against Caroline’s shoulder.
She crossed her arms and glared at him, breathing hard.
Then Raven rested his big head on her shoulder and started licking her neck.
Caroline burst out laughing despite herself.
“Hey! That tickles! Stop licking me!”
