She knew that both Raven and Jet had become a lot smarter after mutating and more human- like too. Their world wasn’t the same anymore.
It was like a lower creature had suddenly awakened and could see a higher world. That was when they’d start having little thoughts of their own, maybe even try doing “different kinds of experiments.”
Especially Raven, who was clearly sharper and stronger than Jet!
Still, she hadn’t spent enough time with either of them. With little animals, you needed patience and teaching.
But she could tell that both of them had good hearts.
Every now and then, she’d grab Raven by the ear and start nagging him.
She knew Jet was just a follower–the real mastermind behind their little pranks was the sly Raven.
He always wore that blank face, but inside, he was full of tricks.
Raven was the real troublemaker and evil genius!
Raven was unusually quiet today. He just sat there listening to Caroline ramble, but near the end, he almost fell asleep.
Caroline, annoyed, tapped him on the head. “Hey, pay attention!”
But instead of responding, Raven’s stomach let out a loud, long growl, as if protesting on
purpose.
“Hahaha! Raven’s hungry! Raven’s hungry! I’m hungry too! I’m starving!”
Jet jumped up and down on the bed, laughing like he was teasing Raven.
Raven just gave him a cold look and smacked him with a paw.
Jet instantly shut up.
“Oh, no. I got so caught up lecturing you that I forgot to feed you two.”

Raven had just used his powers and hauled supplies several times–no wonder he was starving.
As soon as he saw the food, he jumped off the bed right away.
Caroline poured a huge load of food into his bowl, which was actually a big metal pot, since regular bowls couldn’t hold enough for him
anymore.
Before she even finished pouring, Raven shoved his head right into the pot and started chomping down noisily.
Jet flapped his wings, begging for food too.
Caroline took out a handful of parrot feed and filled Jet’s dish.
While the two of them dug into their food, Caroline sat down with her own bowl of beef stew and a cup of grape milkshake. She dug in, eating and sipping at the same time.
She thought Raven would be busy eating for a while, but after just two bites, he came over and pressed his big head on her leg, wagging his tail like crazy. Human, I need more food!
Caroline was speechless.
This time, she grabbed some dog food from the storage space, thinking maybe that would finally fill him up.
She even added a special pet treat that could restore energy.
Then she went back to eating.
She was starving too. She was so hungry that her stomach had started to hurt earlier.
If Raven and Jet hadn’t distracted her the moment she got home, she would’ve eaten first thing.
After Caroline took five bites of food, Raven came wiggling over again.
His eyes were bright, his head drooping as he gave her that pitiful yet proud look. Human, I
need more!
And somehow, Jet had finished eating too!
Jet hopped onto the table, bouncing around. “Human! I want more too! I want more too!”
