Chapter 172 Meeting Jasper
Caroline looked down and realized it was the little kitten that had spoken.
He leapt out of her arms and landed on the ground in front of the villa, sitting upright. In a commanding tone, he said, “Let me introduce myself. I’m Jasper, the spirit of the storage space and its caretaker. Everything in the storage space is under my control. You must be Caroline, the lucky human who made a contract with me.
“From now on, we’ll be working together.
“Meow!”
The last meow made Caroline frown. This must be the real personality of this annoying storage space. What should I do now?
Caroline was frustrated and wanted to close the door so Raven could chase him!
This cat was the physical form of the storage space itself.
After some communication, Caroline learned the cat’s name was Jasper.
The answer she got was that the storage space hadn’t actually been upgraded from eating the soaprock items. All the spiritual energy consumed by the storage space had just been used to materialize Jasper.
“Didn’t see that coming, did you?”
Caroline felt like grabbing a 50–foot sword and chopping Jasper back into the storage space. The storage space had already been mischievous, causing little surprises from time to time. Now it had even created a physical form that argued back with her.
But after talking a bit more, Caroline realized Jasper could actually be useful.
If she didn’t have time to enter the storage space to care for the animals and plants, Jasper could help.
He could even manage the farm.

needed something done. Jasper could control the storage space to help her out, as long as it followed the rule of “equivalent exchange strengthens the storage space
Still, Caroline thought some of Jasper’s outputs, like the piles of pet food, were more like mockery or provocation.
Caroline also asked Jasper some secrets about the storage space that she wanted to know–like the origin of the storage space, whether there were other “edible resources” besides stones, jewels, and mutant creatures that could upgrade it, or whether the storage space had anything to do with the apocalypse.
But Jasper’s answer was always, “Host, your level is too low right now. Don’t be too greedy.”
Caroline knew she couldn’t stay too long in Freya’s house, so she stopped talking with Jasper. She left the storage space and hurried back to her room to rest, planning to introduce Raven and Jet to Jasper the next day.
Not long after she left, someone else entered Freya’s room.
It was Kay, holding a knife.
Seeing Freya lying in a pool of blood, Kay jumped in shock.
Then, seeing the broken door, she realized someone had already been there.
Looking at her former friend, Kay could only spit, “Serves you right!”
The next day, Caroline woke up around noon.
She heard a commotion downstairs and got dressed to check.
She realized people were moving things. It turned out Niko was leaving.
Haroldson, Niko’s bodyguard, came upstairs, patted Raven’s head, and pulled a sausage from his pocket. Grinning, he said, “Yesterday, Commander Ball punished Lieutenant Richter, but honestly, I think it’s fine. It’s boring to be stuck in the building all day, dealing with guys fighting and girls sneaking around. Now we get to go fight mutant creatures and stretch our legs.”
From Haroldson, Caroline learned that most of the military force had actually been focused on hunting mutant animals.
During the acid rain, many mutant creatures and insects had appeared.
