Chapter 173 First Lesson at Building A
Chapter 173 First Lesson at Building A
The military was downstairs, shouting up at Building B.
But the people in Building B acted like they were deaf and didn’t respond at all.
The military tried to break down the doors with force but couldn’t get through.
So for now, everyone was moved into Building A.
Suddenly, Building A became chaotic.

There were a few hundred people–some had just been rescued by the military, while others were from the old villa shelter.
Caroline, Tyler, and Kay stood in Tyler’s apartment, looking out the floor–to–ceiling window, watching truck after truck of people being brought in.
Caroline sighed. “Man, I thought I’d get to enjoy the apocalypse all to myself. Guess not.”
“Let’s set up an electric fence on the 64th floor, Tyler suddenly suggested.
Everyone immediately agreed with the idea.
Before everyone was fully moved in, they quickly got to work.
It wasn’t really a fence, more like an electric door..
They had plenty of generators, so they grabbed two and placed them at the 64th–floor stairway entrance. They also put up two doors, wrapping them with wire.
Of course, they added a sign “Danger–Do Not Touch.”
Tyler, the electrician, got to work.
Caroline watched as he set up the electric door neatly and efficiently, adjusting the power precisely.
According to Tyler. “It’ll zap you just enough to almost kill you, but not quite.”
No one expected that just after they finished, they heard a scream from downstairs, followed by a crackling, sizzling sound.
Caroline had set up a walkie–talkie behind the electric door.

Of course, the walkie–talkie could be turned off if they didn’t want to listen.
At first, they didn’t want to go down.
They figured one shock would teach someone a lesson, and the rest wouldn’t dare.
But soon, curses blared through the walkie–talkie
“Damn it! Who put this here? I got shocked! Hey, this thing’s live! Everybody, there’s electricity here!
Then came chaotic footsteps, more cursing, and some people offering ideas, Let’s break this door! There must be a generator inside. If we take it, we can trade it for a lot of
money.
“The government told us not to mess with residents above the 64th floor.
“Who cares? I’ve got relatives in this building. I heard there are only three people up we get enough folks together, we can take them,”
Caroline couldn’t help laughing at their conversation.
“I knew it. As soon as you build a shelter, trouble follows.”
She called Raven, grabbed her knife, and gathered Kay and Tyler to go downstairs.
This was their first show of authority over the new arrivals.

As they went down, they saw one of the newcomers, an electrician, putting on insulated gloves. He had found the live wire and was about to twist it off,
Caroline opened the door with a cold look, said nothing, put on insulated gloves, and picked up a piece of wire.
She placed it on the man’s shoulder.
He was a rare sight in the apocalypse–a fat man.
After getting shocked, his whole body shook violently.
Within moments, he collapsed, foaming at the mouth, hair standing on end.
Caroline looked at the others, lifting one side of her mouth in a smirk. “Anyone else want to try?”
