Chapter 204 The Hidden Shooter
Chapter 204 The Hidden Shooter
Lizzie wasn’t lying.
Right after she spoke, she lifted her gun and fired. The bullet hit the tree trunk right beside Caroline.
It brushed past her face and even sliced off a strand of her hair.
Caroline had to admit this. Her aim was perfect.
“See? I wasn’t bluffing.”
Lizzie grinned, her voice playful and charming.
But her shoulder burned with pain. She could see blood soaking through her sleeve.
Still, the thrill of the moment made her forget the injury.
Her eyes locked on the huge black dog standing next to Caroline. Lizzie thought that when Neville came back, he’d be thrilled to see such a fine catch.
Caroline stood with her back to Lizzie. Raven stayed in front of her, growling low.
She had her gun up, pointing straight at Lizzie.
But Lizzie was fast, and her aim was deadly.
Caroline knew she wouldn’t be able to shoot quicker than her.
There was only one way out–enter the storage space.
But if she did, she’d expose her secret. She wouldn’t be able to come out again until dark.
And once someone knew about her storage space, they couldn’t be left alive.
Just then, Daley and Byron stepped outside the house.
They spotted Caroline and Raven. Daley chuckled. “Well, look at that dog! That’s enough meat for us for days. Hey, girl, turn around. Let me see that pretty face of yours.”
He stared at Caroline with a lecherous smile.
Her body was hidden under layers of clothes, but her long, shiny black hair caught his eye.

Even though most of her face was covered, those bright eyes made his heart race.
The women he’d found lately were all skin and bones, with hair as dry as straw. But this girl, she was different.
Her smooth hair alone made him imagine things he shouldn’t.
Daley and Byron pulled out their guns too, both aiming at Caroline.
“Listen up, kid,” Byron warned. “There are three of us and one of you. You can’t win.”
Caroline’s mind raced. She slowly raised her hands over her head, pretending to surrender. She hoped they’d drop their guard.
But as she lowered herself slightly, she moved closer to Raven. Caroline was ready to dive into the storage space with him at any second.
That’s when Byron spoke again. “You can have the girl,” he said to Daley. “But the dog goes first. Kill it before it bites someone.”
The moment he said that, Caroline was jolted with fright.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Lizzie raise her gun once more.
Shit! Caroline’s heart sank. She rushed forward, trying to grab Raven and pull him into the storage space with her.
But before her hand even touched him, a gunshot cracked through the air.
Everything slowed down like the scene from the movie.
Caroline saw the woman named Lizzie curl her lips into a smirk. The muzzle of her gun was aimed at Raven.
Before she could pull the trigger, her beautiful face exploded with a spray of red.
A bullet had gone straight through her forehead. Blood streamed down instantly.
Daley and Byron screamed in shock.
Two more shots rang out–bang, bang! Both men collapsed beside her.
For a moment, Caroline just stood there, stunned.
Then instinct kicked in. She was on high alert. Someone else was nearby.
