Chapter 205 Tyler Found a Baby

At first, Tyler found this kind of partnership quite comfortable.

After all, he’d always been a quiet, distant man.

But after running into Caroline several times, something in him began to change. He wanted to know more about what she was thinking.

So, when they met again today, he saw it as a chance to understand her better.

In the face of Tyler’s question, Caroline shook her head. She steadied herself with Raven’s help and stood up. She didn’t notice that Tyler had tried to reach out his hand to help.

“I’m fine,” she said softly. “But thank you for helping me.”

Since he’d only meant well, Caroline made sure to thank him properly.

The close call still made her heart race.

If Tyler hadn’t been there, she could’ve hidden in her storage space. But afterward, she would’ve had to kill everyone who saw her enter it.

And Raven might have been hurt.

Thinking of that made her feel a pang of fear. Mostly, it made her reflect.

Lately, everything had gone too smoothly. She’d been relying on her storage space and on Raven for everything.

Slowly, her guard had dropped. She was bold enough to rush straight into someone else’s territory today, take what she wanted, and leave like it was nothing.

It was all because life had been too easy these past few months.

In her last life, she had lived in fear every day, never once relaxing. The fear had kept her alive for ten years.

But this time, after only a few months, not even through the deep freeze yet, she was already getting careless–eating well and sleeping well, with tons of supplies and weapons stacked in her storage, making her sloppy.

Caroline took a deep breath. When she lifted her head again, she looked at Tyler and said sincerely, “Thank you. I was careless today. I really need to reflect on myself.”

Then she pointed toward the villas nearby. “You saved my life. The supplies in that house on the left are mine. The ones on the right are yours. Take whatever you want.”

“There are few women in there,” he muttered, frowning. “They’re not wearing clothes.”

Caroline could tell he was embarrassed. His eyes darted away, and the faint blush on his face deepened.

Then it hit her. Caroline remembered now; it was the one where that kind of scene was going

Looking at Tyler’s usually serious face turning as shy as a teenage boy’s, Caroline couldn’t help it.

She burst out laughing. “Hahaha!”

Tyler looked a little awkward at first, but as he watched her laughing so hard she could barely stand, the corners of his lips began to curl up too. For the first time, he thought, this version of Caroline was actually kind of cute.

This time, Tyler didn’t say a word. He turned and walked straight into the villa.
