Chapter 226 Jet Wants a Fiancee

Caroline smiled without saying a word. She took a small dagger, cut her finger, and entered Tyler’s space ring.

Inside, the storage wasn’t big. It was smaller than her pendant’s space and far smaller than the one in her chest.

It was roughly the size of a large storage room, maybe about 3,000 square feet with a ceiling over 16 feet high.

The place was packed with all sorts of supplies: mostly food, weapons, boilers, and generators. Caroline guessed Tyler must have taken them from Cyril’s group.

From how neatly everything was arranged, it was clear Tyler had emptied the ring before that

mission.

The boilers and generators were useless for now. Just like Tyler said, he could trade them to Francis for other materials.

As for the weapons, Caroline picked out a few, enough to fill a bag.

She didn’t need food, so she left it there.

As she was about to leave the space, something caught her eye–a dusty old chest tucked in the

corner.

It was locked tight with a bronze padlock.

Caroline had a strong feeling there was something valuable inside.

She decided to take it. With the bag of weapons and the old chest in hand, she cut the link between herself and the ring, then handed the ring back to Tyler.

Tyler glanced at what she took and smiled. “That’s it? You’re being real modest. When I saw you bargain with Colonel Sutton and Commander Ball, you were all fire and thunder.”

Clearly, he was teasing Caroline for going easy on him.

Caroline laughed. “This time I’m fair. Just one jar of medicine; I couldn’t ask for a lot.”

He still had to take care of Denton. After chatting for a bit more, they parted ways.

Caroline felt her stomach growl and her body ache with fatigue. She just wanted to eat something and get some sleep.

She was about to leave when suddenly, a blur of white fur darted toward her.

“Snow!” Tyler shouted from behind, panic in his voice.

Caroline saw a white shadow flying straight toward her–but before it reached her, another figure moved faster than her eyes could follow. In a blink, he caught Snow by the scruff of her

neck.

Snow’s four paws kicked wildly in the air, clearly not happy about it.

“This little one’s a handful,” Tyler said with a helpless sigh. “Was your Raven this wild when he was young too?” Then he stuffed Snow inside his jacket and zipped it up tight, trapping her inside like a wriggling snowball.

A chubby, fluffy little head poked out of Tyler’s coat. Two shiny black eyes darted around curiously while its tiny paws kept wiggling. Since it was trapped inside the fabric, it couldn’t move much at all.

The noise made Denton frown in his sleep and turn over on the couch.

“How about you let me take care of Snow for a few days?” Caroline grinned and offered, “Maybe Raven can teach her some manners.”

Tyler hurriedly took the offer.

And so, Caroline brought Snow home.

Back at the apartment, Jet–who had been waiting all day–perked up the moment he saw Caroline carrying something white and fluffy. He looked thrilled until the smell hit him.

When he realized it was the stinky little Snow, his face fell immediately.

Raven’s expression wasn’t any better.

He looked downright offended because Caroline had told him to babysit.

“Come on,” Caroline teased, scratching Raven’s head. “Think of her as your little fiancée.”

But Raven clearly didn’t appreciate the joke. He smacked Snow down with one paw and bared his teeth as if saying. Try anything funny, kid, and I’ll bite.
