Chapter 88 Mobile Base
Caroline wanted to punch the screen, but she held back.
As much as the storage space drove her crazy, it was still way too valuable to her.
Looking around, she suddenly realized that this villa itself counted as her mobile base.

That thought made her heart race with excitement. Something like that could save her life
later on.
She knew once the apocalypse hit, nobody could stay put forever.
Everyone would be running, never truly settling down.
For her, this mobile base could be the perfect shelter.
And since it was part of her storage space, upgrades were always possible. It was awesome!
The JunkEater had leveled up too: now it could swallow two items a day. Yesterday she’d tossed in some boxes, and today it actually spat out a pistol!
That heavy black pistol made her pulse quicken. It was perfect for scaring people off or defending herself when things went bad.
In the apocalypse, lots of people found weapons in shady ways. She’d even used one before in her previous life.
But that was just a rough homemade gun, not very powerful.
Now she held a real one.
She checked and found three bullets in the chamber. Not much, but enough if things got ugly.
Meanwhile, Farm One finally produced something from that swollen patch of land.
It was an entire box of firewood.
It looked normal, but Caroline sensed it wasn’t ordinary at all.
She planned to test it out once the deep freeze came.
Over in Farm Two, every seed she’d planted had sprouted like
crazy.

Spinach stretched two feet tall, cabbages grew man–high, chili peppers hit a foot long, and the apple trees drooped with bowl–sized fruit.
Caroline was stunned while picking everything.
Then, she quickly planted new crops in the empty plots.
The biggest surprise came from the upgraded ranch.
Now it could auto–produce food.
When the rabbits got fat, she just had to click “canned rabbit meat“. When the llama’s wool grew long, she could hit “shear wool“.
Each animal only had one option for now, but she was still thrilled. At least she didn’t have to handle the messy stuff herself, like shearing wool or slaughtering rabbits.
Life suddenly got way easier.
Sure, the storage space annoyed her a lot, but moments like that reminded her it was actually pretty dependable.
After stepping out of the storage space, Caroline didn’t feel tired at all, thanks to the spring water she drank.
She mixed fresh spring water with acid rain and decided to give herself and her two pets a
bath.
Jet hadn’t seen her all night and wanted cuddles. But as soon as he saw her making bathwater, he bolted.
Once the bath was ready, Raven dragged Jet back, tossed him into the tub, then jumped in
himself.
Caroline rubbed Raven’s big head. “Raven, you’re the smart one. You already know this water is special, huh?”
Raven’s face stayed grumpy as always, but his wagging tail gave him away.
Jet looked pitiful, dripping wet, but at least he wasn’t fighting like before.
The three of them soaked in the water, splashing and fooling around.
Before they knew it, an hour had slipped by.
