After his mom took Charles away from the Yates family, Cameron still visited them often. During their hardest times, Cameron secretly helped them with money, without telling Samuel, and helped Charles and his mom through those tough moments.

That was why Charles had always felt deeply grateful to Cameron.

“Hey Cameron, that project you’ve been working on–it’s almost wrapped up, isn’t it?” Charles asked, just making conversation.

“Yeah, almost done,” Cameron replied with a nod.

“What about the next one?” Charles continued.

Cameron thought for a moment. “I haven’t decided yet. Maybe I’ll take a short break.”

Charles chuckled. “You’re getting lazy, huh? Want me to find you another project to keep you busy?”

Cameron looked at him. “What kind of project?”

“Acquiring Ouistin Entertainment,” Charles said casually.

Cameron hesitated for a moment. “We don’t have any experience in that. The other shareholders might have doubts.”

Charles replied with a calm confidence, “Don’t worry about the shareholders. I’ll handle them. You just take care of buying the company.”

Cameron paused, then nodded slowly. “Alright.”

After a moment, Cameron added, “Last time, you pushed for a shift toward financial investments despite the pressure from the shareholders.

“You worked at it for a while, but it didn’t work out, and the shareholders were pretty upset. Now if you try going into entertainment, the pressure might be even bigger.”

Truth was, Cameron couldn’t quite wrap his head around it. The company was already dominating real estate, hotels, and restaurants–pretty much had those markets locked down.

Their reputation was golden, and as long as they ran things smart, the cash would never stop flowing in. They saw absolutely no reason to reinvent themselves.

But despite not fully understanding, Cameron had always supported Charles.

They’d pushed for financial investments for over a year–Charles had even traveled to Meridia to meet with the financial mogul, Anthony Huffman. It seemed like a sure thing, but in the end, it all fell apart.

Cameron didn’t know what exactly went wrong, but he knew things were getting difficult for Charles in the

company.

Sure, even CEOs were allowed to make mistakes sometimes. But ever since Charles took charge, he’d never even slipped up once. He pushed the company to soar higher than ever, and everyone just got used to the idea that he never loses.

So when he finally failed, the disappointment hit everyone twice as hard. This failure caused the shareholders to stir up even bigger trouble than before.

Cameron felt that now wasn’t the time for any risky moves. It would be better to focus on stabilizing the current projects.

Charles looked at him. “Cameron, you don’t trust me?”

Cameron quickly shook his head. “No, it’s not that.” He then nodded firmly. “I’ll start looking into Ouistin

Entertainment.”

Samuel watched the two brothers talk and felt satisfied. Despite the tensions with Charles over the years, he had always maintained a good relationship with Cameron.

While other families might have their sons fighting over inheritance, these two didn’t care about that at all. When the family business was handed to Charles, Cameron was the first to support him, and for years, he had been a loyal and reliable ally.

They might be half–brothers, but their bond was stronger than most full siblings. Seeing them get along like this made Samuel feel at ease.

As she prepared the fish, Samantha said, “I’ll pan–sear it with a squeeze of lemon.”

Patricia suggested, “Why don’t we make fried fish? Henry loves fried fish.”

Samantha looked conflicted. “But Charles prefers his salmon pan–seared with lemon.”

Patricia’s expression shifted subtly, and a wave of discomfort hit her. ‘So in the Yates family, it seems Charles is always put first–even when it comes to something like dinner, everyone caters to what he likes,‘ she thought.

At home, Henry could eat whatever he wanted. But back here at the family house, he had to yield to his uncle’s favorite dish.

She smiled through the discomfort. “Alright, we’ll do it your way.”

Samantha nodded with a smile. “Next time, I’ll make fried fish for Henry.”
